The only biosphere in the known universe capable of supporting human life is being turned into a hell planet because most of Earth's governments refuse to stop trying to satisfy the insatiable greed of a plutocracy composed of people who already have more money than they could spend in 20 lifetimes.
Point of no return: a hellish ‘hothouse Earth’ getting closer, scientists say
Continued global heating could set irreversible course by triggering climate tipping points, but most people unaware

The whole animation industry is run by people whose interests have nothing to do with the actual making of a thing.
Most companies, when their main competitor absolutely biffs it, would take that opportunity to build customer trust, regain market share, bring customers back. Or you could go "hold my beer"

Tech. Journalism. Animation (ask me how I know 🙃) A LOT of industries have been walking things back. Hell, even the Canadian cabinet.

They’re letting you go precisely for the same reason they promoted you in the 2020 era.
I think people outside of tech don't understand that the workers who have been cut are disproportionately from underrepresented and marginalized groups, are those doing "soft" (more human) roles like design, HR (especially inclusion), and product work, and were often quiet targeting of advocates.

ICE is currently holding around 80,000 detainees. Nazi Germany didn't reach this number in its formal camp system until 1942, nine years after seizing power and three years into the war.

We should immediately follow Mexico’s lead and condemn this act of economic warfare. And we should step up with humanitarian assistance to the Cuban people, as NDP MP @alexboulerice.bsky.social calls for in this excellent parliamentary petition: www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

Post a banger that isn’t in English.

(This one features the Acadian dialect from southwestern Nova Scotia! Similar to what I speak, except I'm from New Brunswick. We can generally tell which village you're from depending on how you speak, so... a whole province away is pretty different!)

If you do a search on here for “Ring ad” you’ll see how many people understood what was actually being advertised. A surveillance network that works side-by-side with ICE to kidnap our neighbors. If you’re in the industry and DON’T see this? …please change industries.

One of the easiest ways to shoot down the idea that "AI" is an expert is to show how it deals with something people know about.

Younger readers may not get this as most appliances come pre-wired, but anyone 35+ can see these are chaotic fire hazards.

From Mastodon, AI asked how to wire a plug:

I am disgusted by this company and will in the next month or so be doing the Hater’s Guide To Adobe. I will not forget what this company has done to its customers nor will I tolerate their loose financial language they use to deceive investors about the “success” of their flaccid AI play.
Now that the Adobe debacle has started to die down, please don’t forget about the animators. There are a lot of crafts, including animation, that have gotten the shit end of the stick during bargaining for decades. My craft is dying. We need more in house animation.
