the Palestine Action ban really was a classic Starmer govt move: a hysterical overreaction that won them zero plaudits from the right, cost them badly to the left, and which got shot down in the end anyway.

Imagine if they put this energy into defending trans people rather than pretend there's nothing they can do.

Reading the Palestine Action judgment.

This, from Yvette Cooper's statement explaining why PA were to be proscribed, is surprisingly revealing. She says that PA are being proscribed
(a) to make them easier to prosecute
(b) ...at least in part for non-terrorist actions

So the court rules on trans rights, and the Labour government claims they are powerless, but the court rules on Palestine Action, and the government wants to fight it?

Palestine Action have WON their judicial review in the High Court!
A massive victory for free speech, freedom of association and the right to protest.
A massive defeat for the draconian attempts by Keir Starmer's government to curtail our fundamental rights.

Europe miles ahead of the UK 👏, no wonder the UK is aligning itself with MAGA.
#BREAKING EU Parliament votes to accept a report, that calls for "the full recognition of trans women as women" as part of the EU priorities for the UN CSW on "women’s rights and gender equality."

For clarity, and for those not grasping how obscenely overblown the scenario, or the extent of the misrepresentation.

Counting only written complaints, the NHS in England alone received 256,777 in 2024-25.

4.5 complaints per 1000 people.

Tavistock trans services received 0.06 per 1000 patients.
The entire Tavistock scandal was over 8 complaints. They've fucked the entirety of trans and non binary peoples, because of 8 complaints, all of which have not materialised into anything as far as I can tell.
The real Tavistock Clinic scandal: 1,000 court cases that never materialised | A FoI request for the data behind the media hysteria over the Tavistock Clinic presents quite a different picture | Marie Shrewsbury

Labour's problem, you know aside from how bad Starmer is as PM, ties to Mandelson, links to a think tank trying to blackmail journalists, repeated scandals over various MPs, including Ministers, spending, taxes etc...actually this could be quite a long "aside list", so let's move on to the point. 1/

The current Labour leadership is a criminal conspiracy (before you get to Epstein). And this was widely known but most of the media thought it was good because they’d rather be friends with Peter Mandelson than a socialist.

Sounds like a joke but it’s real: McSweeney was running a secret campaign planting bullshitty newspaper stories about extremist hatemongers in his party, at the same time he was running bogus “fact-checking” orgs telling the same newspapers any suggestion that was happening was crazy and very racist
I'm old enough to remember when the mere suggestion Mandelson was doing anything remotely like this was unforgivably disgusting antisemitism.

The UK government pinned its case for declaring Palestine Action a terrorist organisation largely on the trial of the so-called Filton Six, claiming they had proved the group to be violent.

A jury today found none of them guilty of any of the charges.

I understand that the jury in the Filton trial have refused to convict any of the defendants of any crime, despite some of them admitting in court that they smashed up Israeli-made drones.

Heroes all.

Was ambushed by a recording of Starmers voice on a podcast. It was his China speech. Why, even when he's talking about his accomplishment does he sound both defensive and scolding?

Why would any state, especially a superpower like the US, allow itself to be contained by international law?

The answer is that on one level, they never did and the Cold War was full of violations.

Labour seem to have developed a strategy of getting ‘negged’ by Reform voters; shifting their policies in ever more socially conservative directions to attract such voters and somehow repelling them, and yet still, maybe, maybe this time will be the one. 6/n
