My Torts professor - who is so unbelievably inspiring - told us a heartbreaking, yet hopeful story tonight - then ended with these words:

“Freedom of expression is priceless . . . Without New York Times v. Sullivan - there is nothing left of Democracy.”
I took the kid to work today and he had me listen to the new A$AP Rocky album that dropped last night. OMG! It’s amazing.

I went to visit my daughter in Minneapolis this past summer for the 1st time. She finished her PhD there in September. Besides Austin & Dallas it was the 1st time I had ever been to such a large, vibrant, beautiful city. I am heartbroken as well. Thank you, @herberthistory.bsky.social for sharing.

Calling Shelby "Mr. Lindbergh" b/c of the pilot stunt is on point as both Ford & Lindbergh were very pro Nazi & anti FDR.
Lindbergh helped convince the Brits to give in at Munich after he vastly overestimated the size & manufacturing capacity of the Luftwaffe. Learn more in Forgotten America #HATM

Ford’s legacy? Spreading virulent anti-semitism conspiracy theories that people still believe. That and making cars average people could afford. And the assembly line maing people cogs in the machine and making people obsessed with efficiency. #HATM

Aww movie guy, you don't want to ask a group of historians what Henry Ford's legacy is going to be because it's going to involve a lot of Nazis & the fact that he avoided US contracts claiming pacifism while letting Ford in Germany take Nazi contracts. #HATM

As we, the good people of America, remember J6 with horror and sadness, spare a thought for the residents of the city it happened in.

DC is often overlooked as a place where folks live, but this trauma happened to us, on our streets, in the place we call home.

Spent the last month in a work sprint to get a bunch of stuff done before the new years. Then, on the day when I turn in my reviews, I get my author copies of Living in a DAISY Age! It's very, very surreal, but amazing, to hold a copy for the first time.

Look, I’m last person to tell you what to do with your life but there is no reason to be on Twitter anymore. None. Staying only empowers Elon. Don’t go mute. Don’t silently lurk. Deactivate and walk away. You won’t miss it.
For the last few days on X, people (mainly women, and sometimes children) have had nonconsensual images of them in swimsuits (or much worse) requested by users and created by Grok.

Musk's only apparent response thus far has been to crack jokes about it.

I’m so tired my dyslexic brain thought this said “What book scared you enough to get sworn in on?” and I was like - That’s easy: From the Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz.

It’s probably time for me to just go to bed. 😂🤣
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

Anytime some yahoo says, “all serious historians agree…” I want to say:
1. What is a “serious” historian?
2. Have you ever actually been in a room with more than one historian? We can’t even agree with how long the 19th century was.
