There is a mass rally at 5 pm tmrw 10/23 at Embarcadero SF.

Two years ago five members of the #ReturnToMonkeyIsland dev team were on a panel at the 2023 @devcom_global in Cologne, Germany. The video was never publicly available, until now…

Fun times. There's a followup post in this thread with a link to about.iftas.org/2025/10/05/c... which mentions that such posts are being bridged to Bluesky.

Did you check out our latest update? Lots of work in progress on display for Children of Infinity, especially Melee visuals! We only had room to share a few slices of this longer VFX reel. Audio is still in progress and includes placeholder mouth sounds: get 'em while they're ridiculous! #Godot

From the good ol' days of the Telltale Games forums, late 2009. In the Monkey Island section there was a "Crap Fan Art" thread and, despite its name, some of the stuff people posted in there were works of TRUE ART... if we're talking Tate Modern.

Anyway! This was my contribution. 👌

Reskeeting this out of its context, but I feel like it's a truth regardless. I was about to say "a timeless truth", but no, more like a truth that dates back to 2007 or so.
Basically what I’m saying is that social media is a plague designed specifically to draw out and manipulate the worst impulses in humans.

Zork 1, I guess? By which I mean the commercial version sold in 1980, where a chunk was carved off the Zork of the late 1970s and stuffed into a size the microcomputers of the day could handle. I haven't actually played mainframe Zork for more than a few minutes (or Colossal Cave Adventure, either).
Alright kids, what is the oldest game you've beaten.

For me i believe its Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Cloudy Mountain (1982) for the Intellevision

Maniac Mansion, where getting captured and put in the dungeon basically right at the start of the game scared me enough that to this day I have never finished it. (Barely even started it, really. The UI was revolutionary for the time, but kind of awkward to use nowadays.)
What was the first video game that scared you?

It doesn't have to be a horror game. Maybe you didn't even play it -- plenty of ads freaked me out as a kid.

#firstfiveonsteam "Lucasarts Adventure Bundle" contained The Dig, Loom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis; no Monkey Island. I guess the Secret SE would have been available at the time, but I didn't buy that until a bundle of that and Revenge in 2013.

reminder that the 'read & return' lifehack actively harms authors, especially self published authors.
Also please consider that
1 Libraries exist and are free
2 Authors will not continue writing books you like if they aren't making any money or think it doesn't sell

Authors are protesting Amazon's e-book policy that allows users to read and return
Authors say readers are exploiting Amazon's seven-day return policy by using Amazon like a library and returning books after reading them.
