You could probably find just the game DVD available on eBay for not too much money... I'm not sure if the disc label art was different in this deluxe edition though.

...I think. Mobygames says this was the Apple IIe. This isn't how it looks in my memory, but I can't find a shot that matches. (I did also play some other early things like Mystery House and Wizard and the Princess, but I think only somewhat later.)

I'm going to chuck a Dungeness crab at Bret's head.
(Lobster rolls out here are sad. The only lobster I've ever had that made me go "ohhh is THIS what all the hype is about" was in New Hampshire. There was also one in Nova Scotia that was pretty good though not life-changing.)

Someone in the DREAMM Discord server said "i use the launcher, set the res to 1280x960, rename the monkey4patched.exe to monkey4.exe and launch though dream like dreamm.exe <pathtogame>" and that this worked for them. I haven't tried it so I can't be clearer about what that actually means.

I've never managed to get that to work either, and the "Launcher" replacer that's out there never worked for me. But if you haven't tried it it might be worth a shot. (1/2)

(Actually I tend to code-switch about this: if I'm traveling in a place where "the" is in the vernacular, I say it, and somehow in that circumstance it doesn't feel so weird! Maybe because the numbers themselves tend to be ones I'm not used to saying...)

That always sounds so odd to me, even though by numbers we're the odd ones out by a long shot for dropping the article.
