Seelie & Unseelie are Scots terms, coming from lowland folklore. Seelie, meaning blessed or lucky, is a euphemism for the Good Neighbours that dates to the 15th century. The Unseelie court (unlucky, ungodly group of Fair Folk) is a later addition which appears by the 19th century.
