Congratulations @vakil-takhaveev.bsky.social @sturlalab.bsky.social and everyone else involved. It was really a pleasure to play a small part in it. I am looking forward to celebrating the next time we meet!
New publication alert! Click-code-seq, our DNA-damage sequencing method, is now out! This tool can advance our understanding of aging, cancer and neurodegeneration. Huge thanks to the amazing collaborative team behind this! @sturlalab.bsky.social @ethz.ch
Mapping oxidatively damaged bases and abasic sites at single-nucleotide resolutions reveals transcription-related strand biases, patterns mirroring cancer mutational signatures, and the action of anticancer drug irofulven

It was a pleasure to talk Genome Stability for a few days with the DFG - FOR5504 for. It is really exciting to see the community in and around Cologne looking for genome stability in whole organisms and the context of the sequence. I am excited about what else is going to come.
Amazing retreat of the @dfg.de Research Unit FOR5504 on the Physiological Causes and Consequences of Genome Instability and the Institute for Genome Stability in Aging and Disease with keynotes by @apoetsch.bsky.social and @garinis.bsky.social

Me: I got a new type of compliment from an audience member: "Your talk was so Gen Z"
My lab: This was not a compliment...
Me: 🥲 (but..., but..., I still think it was meant to be one...)

Exciting to see the @grunewaldlab.bsky.social finding new target candidates against metastases of Ewing sarcoma.
It makes one wonder how general this pathway disruption might be and whether it may work with other sarcomas or metastatic cancers in general… 🤔
Very proud on our stellar Alina Ritter for her frist first-author paper:

We want to connect:
To link model builders with data generators.
To bring together scientists asking why cells behave the way they do, and others figuring out how to model that behavior.

If you're working on AI in biology, consider joining!
