No shade on folks trying to find ways to (bravely, IMO) confront ICE directly, but my understanding from talking to folks who do legal support for immigrants and asylum seekers is that shutting down this facility could actually make life dramatically more difficult for these communities.

Andor is a miracle by all standards. not confident we’ll see a production of this caliber for quite some time with how cost prohibitive streaming is. pretty incredible we experienced a one-of-a-kind event.
Tony Gilroy confirms the total budget for #Andor was $650M 💰

They had to fight for the necessary funding for S2 after Disney told them 'streaming is dead'

Andor S2 thoughts, so far (no spoilers here):

I think, in many respects, Season 2 has surpassed S1.
Incredible storytelling, so many layers moral and intellectual complexity, visually breathtaking. It’s both inspiring and heartbreaking. I love it overall.
HOWEVER…

Of course I had high expectations for Season 2 of Andor—but so far they’ve been exceeded. The complexity and maturity has shocked even me.

I want to ask Tony Gilroy if those were ‘Come and See’ references in S2E3 of Andor.

“You made this decision long ago. The Empire cannot win. You’ll never feel right unless you’re doing what you can to stop them. You’re coming home to yourself. You’ve become more than your fear. Let that protect you.”

One of the funnier aspects of Andor Season 2 is how invested I am in the relationship of objectively two of the worse people in the galaxy (Empire).

I think it’s important—and poignant—that characters think of The Empire as something that existed in spirit long before Palpatine officially declared it so. So these “well actually that doesn’t line up with the timeline” people need to chill.

As if I didn’t already think Andor promotes the tenets of democratic centralism, a particular arc in the first three episodes of S2 really drives that home for me.

I'm not alone in having communicated (screamed!) that I expect to see my elected representatives go above and beyond in these fascistic times.

Traveling to El Salvador to draw attention to how the Trump Administration is illegally kidnapping, deporting, & jailing people aligns with my expectations.
I am in El Salvador because I will not stand by while our country is thrown into a constitutional crisis. This is a moment to act. I will not rest until due process is upheld for all.

Similarly, many dudes in the corporate world draw inspiration from the Alec Baldwin monologue in Glengarry Glen Ross.
Blows my mind how many Americans don't pick up on the "we're the baddies" subtext of the Ride of the Valkyries helicopter scene in Apocalypse Now

School kids are screaming while foreign invaders playing ominous Wagner shit swoop down from the sky & they're like "Siiiick"

Credit where credit’s due, this is the most meaningful thing a Dem politician has done since Trump slithered back into office. Now bring him home!
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

My job is partially an “email job” and to the extent that it is, I agree. As a man, it took YEARS of personal development to be able to handle it.
most men simply cannot handle the cutthroat world of email jobs. it requires a level of discipline and self control they're not emotionally equipped for. i work in an email job environment that's 80%+ women (heaven) and each & every man still around is tough as nails, by which i mean cool + normal
There is a great shame among liberals and leftists alike that they do not work low wage factory jobs or live in rural towns because that is Real America, and their PMC jobs just make them sissy cosmopolitans. This is also pretty gendered too.
