What a story!
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Wow.

People fighting for freedom in China, encouraging Americans to "be braver" now.

h/t @samanthaculp.bsky.social
In which I said to Americans: “I just can’t emphasize enough to be braver than you think you can. If you don’t pay the middle price now, you’re gonna pay a huge price. People go to jail, people disappear, people die for the right to speak, now you only need to lose your job.” pen.org/what-oversea...

Sunday post: People are more likely to support partisan violence if they think the other party does too

This gives us an incredibly powerful tool for reducing mass political violence: Sharing the real (very low) numbers on how many people actually support it

This fits pretty squarely in the classic definition of assault in that it a) is unlawfully directed at constitutionally protected activity and (b) causes the victim to reasonably fear imminent physically harmful contact

This Prime Day, celebrate by buying trans books from somewhere other than Amazon.
I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

I really don't understand how I'm supposed to be made to hate Muslims as some kind of existential threat to "western civilization" when my Muslim best friend will throw hands at anyone who misgenders me, Zohran Mamdani is marching for trans people, and western civilization wants me dead or closeted.

In my experience, around 1/10 of end-users who experience a problem with your online product will get in touch with you to complain (and give you a chance to fix it).

The rest just give up, or complain to all their friends instead of you.

Reminder: cis men who are not married to/dating a cis woman whose data it could be, one simple thing you can do is download a period tracker and use it to track literally anything. Days you saw a Cybertruck. Days your boss was a fuckbucket. Days you didn't get a fundraiser text from the Democrats.
This is in the UK but it’s a really good example for everyone in the US of why many folks have been warning not to use period tracking apps.
"Police have been issued guidance on how to search women’s homes for abortion drugs and check their phones for menstrual cycle tracking apps after unexpected pregnancy loss"

"...police could bypass legal requirements for a court order to obtain medical records..."

So after being kicked off #Medicaid, you then can't even buy your own health insurance.

Every extra hour that ICE spends facing off with activists is an hour they can't spend kidnapping other people.

Every extra minute ICE has to spend contingency planning around activists and neighbors, every extra officer ICE has to put on a kidnap squad, is a drain on their efficiency.

This exchange is so very telling.

Trump repeatedly claims the photoshopped MS-13 on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles is real, Terry Moran keeps telling him it isn't, prompting Trump to say this:

"I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed... Just say yes!"

Just spoke with my CDC sources.

RFK Jr. has reportedly instructed officials to stay silent on bird flu transmission and avoid testing farm workers with symptoms.

This is a direct attempt to suppress vital information.
