One question I get a lot is why progressives and leftists should go to law school or become lawyers if we're abolitionists. Isn't that contradictory?

No, actually. And here's why.

This book is so validating and just a lovely read as an asexual person. Also very informative on the specific experiences of and prejudices against Black asexual people. I'm listening while playing Against the Storm on my PC

I watched V for Vendetta for the first time tonight at girls night. I decided that I would like to see much better versions of a similar idea. Any recs for not too gory revenge against the evil government books or movies? Also are the comics better than the movie?

Friends, we have some great news post-holiday: we eeked past the 60% mark. We have 5 days left in our 2025 end-of-year fundraising. Help us reach our goal of $50,000 before the end of the year.
We need your help! So far, we’ve raised $16,000 from 164 donors, which tells us that a lot of people understand the importance of this work. We train incarcerated writers and publish their stories. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by Dec. 31. Can you support our work?

I'm going to share the Odd Blood series by @azaleacrowley.bsky.social because it makes me very happy. An undiagnosed autistic woman becomes the carer for a vampire with dementia and moves in with the household, which consists of two more vampires and a ghost. #AMoRaR

I think I would like to visit some early Irish Christians, the ones who built the High Crosses. Just for a short visit, would not want to live then.
For historical indie book, Tears of the Wolf by Elisabeth Wheatley is set in historical northern England with some magic. Very sweet romance. #AMoRaR
Daily Challenge 8: History Uncovered - Which period in history would you like to visit? Feel free to recommend indie books that fit a historical theme!

I have to say inside, as I am very picky about outside conditions. But I love vicarious outsideness, which there is a lot of in A Crimson Covenant by Aimee Donnellan. The MCs camp pretty much the whole time on the run from the baddies. #AMoRaR
Daily Challenge 6: Quest or Cozy - Will you wander outside or rather stay inside?

Yall, if you feel the need to donate food to folks who need it that’s amazing. Do that. Just… don’t do it on Halloween. Don’t give kids ramen for trick or treats. Halloween is for candy & costumes-not being reminded that you’re poor. Let kids have fun & a night where they are just like other kids.

It’s literally lightyears more expensive to incarcerate and displace people than it is to meet their needs at a large scale. But for-profits like prisons want slave labour

That’s why they speed Black folk through the process at such a high rate

Your taxes pay for this to occur

Have I mentioned my love for the "team sees their friend go down in a group fight and fights all the harder" trope? Because it's my second favorite fight scene trope (after "enemy of my enemy is my friend"). Watching the scenes in Moria right now.
