I'm going to share the Odd Blood series by @azaleacrowley.bsky.social because it makes me very happy. An undiagnosed autistic woman becomes the carer for a vampire with dementia and moves in with the household, which consists of two more vampires and a ghost. #AMoRaR

I think I would like to visit some early Irish Christians, the ones who built the High Crosses. Just for a short visit, would not want to live then.
For historical indie book, Tears of the Wolf by Elisabeth Wheatley is set in historical northern England with some magic. Very sweet romance. #AMoRaR
Daily Challenge 8: History Uncovered - Which period in history would you like to visit? Feel free to recommend indie books that fit a historical theme!

Make sure to check the rules below, this must be an indie book!

I have to say inside, as I am very picky about outside conditions. But I love vicarious outsideness, which there is a lot of in A Crimson Covenant by Aimee Donnellan. The MCs camp pretty much the whole time on the run from the baddies. #AMoRaR
Daily Challenge 6: Quest or Cozy - Will you wander outside or rather stay inside?

Tell us which you would prefer, but also feel free to share indie books which fit your idea of this prompt!

Yall, if you feel the need to donate food to folks who need it that’s amazing. Do that. Just… don’t do it on Halloween. Don’t give kids ramen for trick or treats. Halloween is for candy & costumes-not being reminded that you’re poor. Let kids have fun & a night where they are just like other kids.

It’s literally lightyears more expensive to incarcerate and displace people than it is to meet their needs at a large scale. But for-profits like prisons want slave labour

That’s why they speed Black folk through the process at such a high rate

Your taxes pay for this to occur

Fire to the prisons

General reminder:

It is less important to be able to recognize that someone is a fed or other bad actor infiltrating your movement

Than it is to be able to recognize the bad advice or suggestions that they provide.

Have I mentioned my love for the "team sees their friend go down in a group fight and fights all the harder" trope? Because it's my second favorite fight scene trope (after "enemy of my enemy is my friend"). Watching the scenes in Moria right now.

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

Found out I had social anxiety and got on meds. Found out I was autistic and started accommodating myself. Moved way left politically by hearing from marginalized people firsthand. Learned from the chronic illness community how to advocate for myself and got another diagnosis leading to more meds.
Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

It's #OrangeShirtDay, or National Day of Remembrance of Indian Boarding schools in the US. I spent time today watching this webinar about how boarding schools enabled and hid epidemics among the children. youtu.be/tkFjpEbVUOw?...

I broke my fast today at 6:48, about ten minutes after sunset. But Palestinians in Gaza still have nothing to eat. Pass the Fast, Let Gaza Eat! #ParentsFast4Gaza
Tomorrow at 7am begins my day of fasting for Parents Fast for Gaza, which will be part of the Tri-Cities for Palestine Team week of the relay. I am fasting from dawn until dusk for one day. Others are fasting from luxuries all week or limiting calories for 24 hours depending on what is accessible.

Today I've finished Everything Grows in Jiddo's Garden by Jenan Matari and Love is an Ex-Country by Randa Jarrar (I had started the second a while ago). The first is a lovely picture book that explains the Nakba and the Palestinian desire to return in a child friendly way. #ParentsFast4Gaza
I will also spend part of the day reading Palestinian books. This is a small act of solidarity with the people who are being starved to death in Gaza by Israel's blockade and seige. Pass the Fast, Let Gaza Eat! #ParentsFast4Gaza

My farthest-along-wip's two main characters are dragon shifters. One defends her home village from zombies and the other comes to her aid because he is a "fixer" of magical and inter-magical species problems. #SpoonieAuthChat
