There is a Baltic series on C4 Walter Presents called The Nordic Murders. It is set on the island of Usedom with Polish German border running through it. Fabulous settings of the island you mention in your book. Probably nearest I'll get to a visit.
Delighted to announce that Borderlines is one of @waterstones.bsky.social paperbacks of the year!

The wealthiest, won't mind a frequent flyer tax, they'll just pay it, so it may not reduce emissions. We need an air mile allocation per person, per year. Non-transferable, so it doesn't become a tradable commodity and price the less well off out of being able to fly.
That, and ban private jets.

Brilliant but we also need to 'rewild' our cities and towns. Get people out of cars and cycle, walk and wheel through the parks, street trees and changing seasons. @mumsforlungs.bsky.social @bettertransport.bsky.social @livingstreets.bsky.social

We’re excited to be here and connect. As the newcomer at this party, we’ll be hovering by the refreshments, hoping someone will come say hi.

Researchers in Australia modelled traffic stress levels according to varying speed limits… and the results are no surprise

@playingout.bsky.social children were never asked if they would like to give up their natural playgrounds - the streets - and be cooped up indoors or cooped up in cars
I fervently believe that the fact that children and elders lead lives of isolation in cities and towns (absent daily efforts of their caregivers to ferry them around) should make plain what a terrible job we've done with building cities over the last 70 years.
New episode up! We talked with researcher Tim Gill about how we need to make our cities safe for children, not cars. "Children are basically living very captive and kind of contained lives, and that's just not healthy."

Peter Kyle the Labour government should be massively distancing itself from far right. Stand up for refugees! This is disturbing coming from my MP
What taf Peter Kyle?!!!
This is my MP saying this utter cowardly BS which is not surprising but it IS deeply disturbing.
Blind & deaf as well as endowed with the skin of an Indian rhinoceros.
Every decent politician should be ‘disturbed’ by Tommy Robinson’s fascist march in London and Musk’s calls for violence on our streets.
Every decent politician should stop claiming this horror is an expression of ‘free speech’.
It’s vicious, racist incitement.
DO something about it.

Immigrants are just all of us who once were. People have always moved. @zackpolanski.bsky.social
Whoa! A politician saying humans should be treated with humanity. This is refreshing!
No other party says the basic truth: migration is good for Britain.

The real problem? Inequality, soaring bills, underfunded public services.

That’s driven by the greed of the super rich and the Labour government who serve them - not by migrants.
