Without sarcasm, I really admire being able to tell someone to keep walking in a situation like this.

Doing anything sports-related online is a never-ending street fight for clicks.

I respect writers like Arif who know their audience and are brave enough to tell people when they aren't in it.
If you don't trust me to handle a question like this with something interesting or with some nuance then idk man maybe i'm not the writer for you
Isn't this kind of article written for every super bowl/world cup/Olympics? We know by now.

I gotta tell you: as funny as this is, and though I wish it were true, it is way, WAY off. People are *fiends* for emergency podcasts. Sports pods not only do great numbers if they’re quick with a reaction pod, but find almost all their new listeners and viewers that way.
I can assure you that nobody was asking or wanting an “emergency podcast”

Depending on what happens with Schwartz, this could be a really good DC option in Cleveland.

Ken Carman is saying this morning that Watson has a chance to be the starting quarterback in 2026 for the Browns under Monken.

Bondi thinks she's going to win the propaganda war with this shit, but it's never been more clear that they're losing.

We are back with Another Cleveland Sports Podcast and you know @jordanzirm.bsky.social and I had to talk Browns head coach hire.

We get into the weeds on the process and then zoom out. Jimmy Haslam is back in the hiring mix and we feel pretty confident that's a bad thing.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the three remaining openings are the three worst jobs.

As I have said a few times, Browns fans need to recalibrate their expectations for this season and for the franchise going forward.

2020-2023 was a blip.
And then, just three head coach openings remained.

Giants: John Harbaugh
Falcons: Kevin Stefanski
Dolphins: Jeff Hafley
Titans: Robert Saleh
Ravens: Jesse Minter
Steelers: Mike McCarthy
Bills: Joe Brady
Browns:
Cardinals:
Raiders:

This is where the Browns deserve to be after running a shitty coaching search.

They left themselves with one real candidate and if he turns them down for whatever reason, the search will be a failure.

But if this is what finally puts AB on the hot seat? That would make it worth it.
January 26, 2026 at 10:11 PM
The Browns can dress it up however they want. This is the same thing as the owner deciding on a whim to hire Freddie or Mangini.
January 26, 2026 at 2:50 PM
Any time you can run a head coaching search for three full weeks to end up with two candidates, one of whom has been the defensive coordinator for three years, and the other who has two total years of NFL coaching experience....

THAT'S A REALLY GOOD PROCESS
Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski has removed himself from consideration in the Browns' head coaching search, per source.

In the end, the Browns held a sham interview to get in compliance with the Rooney Rule. Just like every other team.

My biggest takeaway from the @tompelissero.bsky.social appearance on the Eisen show about the Browns is that they administer personality tests.

Based on that, it is not surprising that they haven't succeeded in building a coherent team once since 2020...they are overusing data and it is obscuring

If you’re a Browns fan, read the below.

Then read it again.

That’s who these people are. Franchise is permanently fucked unless they sell.
“I don’t even speak to that organization on behalf of my guys. There are 31 teams. Most toxic people in sports.”

- NFL Agent to me, asking this same question about the Browns last week.
I'd ask "How toxic can that job be?" but I guess we know by now

Jordan didn't want to criticize @arbys-roast-beef.bsky.social by comparing it to the Browns offense.

So we had to go one step further.

No one else is covering the #Browns coaching search like this.
what other podcast is going to compare the Browns potential offense in 2026 to a bag of Wet Arbys? answer me that!

Okay, to be clear, the Browns coaching search plan has been:

1) Tell every coach they want to keep Schwartz as DC

2) Slow roll the Rooney Rule interviews to give those opportunities to genuine candidates (laudable)

3) That delays the whole process

4) Give Schwartz and Monken both two interviews
January 22, 2026 at 7:13 PM
I was way too negative about the Browns on this pod. Surprise surprise.

BUT...always great to be real dumb with Jordan.

One of us says the phrase "Wet Arby's"
my guy @andrewspayde.bsky.social and I got together for a long overdue pod to talk:

-the Browns ongoing coaching search
-Kevin Stefanski running it back in Atlanta
-Baker Mayfield being exactly who we thought he was

and more!

There is some comfort for Browns fans that Haslam is not the only owner making this mistake.

Schoen and Beane definitely also should have been fired.

I wonder how much has to do with the massive expansion in analytics and scouting departments recently.

Firing a GM could mean replacing 20+ jobs.
Re: Sean McDermott getting fired, I ask once again: why are all these GMs keeping their jobs when they bear more responsibility for team failure?
