I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week
Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Nothing brings out the internet chuds like your local district attorney being super racist about the new mayor of a city that's literally on the other side of the country.

Rosalind Franklin's lab notes.
Only we spell it 'S-T-E-A-L' these days.

The AFL-CIO should start throwing some money towards labor journalism. If it was done right (i.e. with them accepting that journalists must have full editorial control over what’s published, whether or not union leaders like what they have to say) it could really have such a hugely positive impact

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

The fact that they have intolerance set to warn, but rudeness set to hide just shows you their priorities. They would rather you see people say bad things about trans people than bad things to transphobes.

Subway has a chance to do the funniest thing here.
Sandwich Guy thanks everyone for their support, “emotional, spiritual, artistic or financial.” Intones, “Let us not forget that the great seal of the United States says…‘ out of many, one.’…You all have a right to live a life that is free.”

Well Josh Shapiro allows billionaires to use the phrase "privatize public education" around him and I bet Mamdani is pretty offended by that but he isn't gonna run to Dave Weigel about it.
1) It's interesting that Shapiro doesn't ever substantiate what words Mamdani has used that were "hurtful"— and he implicitly concedes this by then tacking on "used around him by others"
2) This is the posture of a presidential candidate who knows that his position on this is increasingly unpopular

What Heritage wants is "family voting" where the man controls the votes for the whole household and bigger families get more votes.
The emphasis on family policy is very evident in Heritage’s policy work.
One draft paper we obtained proposed a “Manhattan Project” for more babies.
A subsequent draft floats giving straight married couples an extra “half vote” in federal elections for each of their children.

SLO County DA shares posts linking New York’s first Muslim mayor to 9/11 attacks
When asked why he shared the posts, Dan Dow called Zohran Mamdani “an un-American socialist who wants to trample on the values and freedoms that millions of Americans have fought and died for.”
