The calmest thing I can say right now is that the fact this has happened before doesn't keep it from being horrific. Every instance of state violence is a failure and a tragedy, and trying to score points by claiming you've been upset about it for longer is ghoulish.

Years ago, when I started as the editor-in-chief of the Finnish rpg magazine Roolipelaaja, my publisher (a man of business with a soft spot for rpgs) game me this advice: Around 10% of the audience is the "Toxic Segment". They must be ignored and if necessary, ejected.
I spent an excessive number of years moderating a gaming forum and I learned a great deal about community spaces and cultivation, whether I wanted to or not. I have critical advice for anyone who runs a game store or gaming convention. Please share this thread with people who run those things.

I adore what Sonya did with my character in her style. Arwin is the rogue I've been playing in my home game I play in but this version... isn't the same Arwin. This is the Arwin who's an NPC in my own game I ran that my players never met.

Echoing this to say that $1 a month to a creator whose work you like is equivalent to easily a thousand ad-supported views on their videos. Even a little bit of support makes a hugely outsized difference - pick your favourites and support where you can.
Philosophy Tube is made by properly paid artists; no AI slop, no sussy sponsorships from mobile games and mattress companies. If you want there to still be a place for proper art on the internet then please support your friendly neighbourhood content creator, whether that’s me or someone else ❤️
