Twitter expat. "Sturdily Thomist," "relentlessly even-handed," "somehow uncaffeinated," "what kind of being could have conspired to create you?"

Episcopal priest, baker, counselor, exercise nut, sci-fi afficionado. Opinions are no one's, especially mine

Follow Jesus! Unironically!
Somebody was once told me
The world was gonna roll me,
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
Don't hang on,
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
It slips away,
And all your money won't another minute buy.
Dust in the wind.
All we are is dust in the wind.

Or just have him start the next film alive and well and then at some point have someone be like "Bond! I thought you got blown up!" And then have him quip "you know better than to listen to rumors," or "what can I say? That was no time to die" and then absolutely refuse to explain further

I am begging - BEGGING - us all to remember that natures are not subjects!!!

"The human nature of the Son is subordinate to the Father" is a meaningless sentence.

"The Son, with respect to his human nature, is subordinate to the Father" is meaningful.

You like Calvin bc of predestination. I like Calvin bc of his habit of continuous lectionary readings and expository preaching. We are not the same.

Me: My laptop is broken but NBD, I can just work on my desktop

Also me: Oh no. I cannot work on this. These tasks are for the Medium Screen. I can't do them on the Medium-Big Screen. Everything is all wrong

Process theology is incompatible with the goodness of matter.

I will not elaborate.

Real Presence - this baked good is also a pie, but we dare not say how
There are three positions in the classical taxonomy

Exclusivists - only one kind of pie is good and valid

Inclusivists - many pies are good insofar as they conform to the features of a normatively good pie

Pluralists - all pies are equally good and valid; "Many pies, one stomach"
yeah, I have a cousin who makes a “raisin pie” and there are certainly a diversity of people who use the word “pie” chaotically!

2. See an interesting book
3. Buy interesting book
4. Read interesting book and think "another one off my to-read list"
5. Read interesting citations
6. Think "oh! I need to add those books to my to-read pile"
7. Buy 3 more books
8. Bookshelf collapses in protest

Broke: Guilt good, shame bad! Just because you *did* a bad thing doesn't mean you *are* bad!

Woke: We are all murderers because we have committed murder in our heart. There is something profoundly destructive in us.

Bespoke: Yup, that's right, and that's okay, God saves us from that too
