When I post about a the struggle of transgender service members, I get a lot of “some of the best people I served with were” and things of that nature. And that’s good, that’s fine. But, the true mark of success is the acceptance of the goldbricker transgender service member. The “just doing time”.

This is not great. CASAs are one of the BEST links between the Army and communities. This further degrades our ability to bridge the civ-mil divide

I just have to say, as a historian of the Reconstruction-era Klan, that masked paramilitaries are very bad and masked vigilantes are even worse and there are causal links between the two and none of this is good for democracy.
Just some creepy armed Mad Max guys trying to gain entry to Dodgers Stadium.

ICE says it wasn’t them. DHS says they were Border Patrol. But honestly who the hell knows? They’ve given permission for any psycho to put on a ski mask, point a gun, grab people & throw them into an unmarked vehicle.

Great thread about the symbolism of parades in DC- and how very, very different this one is.
Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/
