Trump has made it clear the UN should no longer be in the US

This is #Montreal's opportunity to come up with a plan and a pitch

We're well-suited to host the UN. It's time for Montreal to think big.

Move the United Nations to Montreal
If Montreal ever wanted to make a serious pitch to become the new home of the United Nations, now is the time.

Which Canadian Cities Are Most Exposed to Trump’s Tariffs? - Business Data Lab
Even with a 30-day pause, President Trump’s executive order to impose tariffs on Canadian exports to the United States marks a major protectionist shift in U.S. trade policy.

I don't think I would be able to put my thoughts more succinctly than this. We're not perfect– far from it, but that doesn't mean we're something not worth fighting for.

Things Canada should be focusing on even if there wasn't the huge threat of tariffs on our economy:

a)Not being a petro-state
b)Inter-provincial trade barriers

One long-term thing Canada can do to reaffirm its sovereignty in the face of our bully neighbor and to start decoupling from the US in terms of trade is to stop adapting US technical standards and start using international or EU one (which is often the same thing).

Part of the reason why the housing crisis is so exacerbated in Canada compared to other countries is that we have a travesty of an intercity transportation network.

Reliable, fast, and affordable links to other places makes smaller towns and cities desirable!
Canada doesn’t need bigger cities to solve the housing crisis, report finds — it needs more cities.

Increasing housing supply only in large metropolitan areas won’t bring down costs, says the C.D. Howe Institute.

The federal NDP doesn't just need a new leader, they need a new leadership team and strategic pivot in general. They made the right decision to do a C&S agreement, but you have to own those choices. This is buck passing. The country is waiting for a real social democratic party option.

It was my first time leading my own organization & campaign instead of being part of one.

From getting ppl to delegate at 3 budget meetings, canvassing @ bus terminals, & news/social media outreach it's been a crazy few months!

I try to limit my political posts, but Justin Trudeau has broadly lit hopes of a progressive political agenda on housing, transit and the environment (even if it's slow) on fire. It all comes back to breaking his promise of electoral reform, on a backdrop of no other good federal leaders. #cdnpoli
Sean Fraser did more for housing in this country, directly through funds and indirectly by incentivizing municipal councils to reduce zoning barriers, than anything or anyone in the last 30 years. This is infuriating news. www.thestar.com/politics/fed...

More than electoral reform, perhaps even more than gov't transparency, the idea of 'cabinet government' is possibly the most blatant broken promise of Trudeau's tenure. It's unfathomable that - as reported by ppl like Garneau and JWR - his ministers simply couldn't reach him, barely ever saw him.
But there is no way to read this story without noting that we are now at PMO + 2, Min FIN -2.

So much for "Cabinet government is back".

Yes there's never been anything like this before, but Trudeau has survived so much already that not many thought he would. Don't be too surprised if he survives this one. We all know he doesn't survive the election, but there's a good chance he survives this too.
