Amtrak's next gen Acela brings increased Capacity, Higher Speeds, and Updated Interiors; but there's one trend that is haunting the North American Rail industry and unless it's reversed we're all in for a worse ride. I talk about it in today's video:

This paint job radiates such incredible boomer energy that I'd expect the horn to just be a very loud "I just wanna grill for God's sake" yell
Today we're unveiling our eighth locomotive in Metro-North’s Heritage Series—a moving tribute to our nation’s veterans.

Created and designed by Metro-North veterans, this locomotive embodies gratitude to those who have worn the uniform, both within the Metro-North family and across the country.

Btw tonight I'll be hosting a casual Chicago meetup at the Emporium Arcade bar in Logan Square at 7pm

There will be plenty of urbanist and transit dorks here to hangout with

Federal Dollars went into the creation of the DC Streetcar. If it shuts down the Rolling stock should be a transfered to a city that actually needs it, like Memphis

Memphis already runs a pantograph compatible system, but have had issues with their old museum fleet

Really loving the right-wingers that spew violent rhetoric 24/7 suddenly saying that it's bad, or that making fun of Kirk (who also did these things), is bad.

Don't be an incredibly shitty person and people won't celebrate your death. It's that easy.

I might have to make an apology video for Hochul since it seems she's done a 180 on everything including congestion pricing.

Now if only she was more aggressive on the NY housing plan
Ran into Gov. Kathy Hochul walking up Third Ave, just as I left the PIX 11 studio.
What’s happening with the mayor? I ask. “That’s what I just said, what’s happening with the mayor? She responded.
“We’re not fucking selling out our city.”

If this asshole Lawyer actually gave a shit about SEPTA he'd be yelling at the Republicans instead of working with them.
Absolutely a money chasing snake
The lawyer who filed a lawsuit which led to SEPTA halting their fare hikes and Regional Rail service cuts wrote a letter to the transit agency's attorney, arguing that their sports express train cuts should be stopped as well before Thursday's Eagles game: on.nbc10.com/prCiAax
Eagles issue travel advisory for home opener amid SEPTA service cuts
With service cuts that reduced express trains still in effect, the Eagles issued a travel advisory for fans attending Thursday's home opener.

I'm in DC for the weekend and we're having a small last minute meetup/hangout at the Dew Drop Inn, Tomorrow (Monday) at 6pm!

The bar is also next to the CSX mainline and the metro so it's definitely entertaining

A country isn't a real country if it doesn't have at least:
- full sized Integrated steel mill
- domestic auto manufacturer
- domestic aircraft manufacturer
- domestic train manufacturer
- cross country Intermodal rail shipping
- a nuclear power plant
- a space program

I love Pennsylvania because you'll find random towns in the middle of nowhere that are more dense and walkable than every sunbelt city

We continue the History of American Railroading Electrification (and how we fumbled it), this time focusing on the WW2 to 1970s era

I wrote an Op-Ed about SEPTA funding and how our Agency is actually one of the most efficient in the country with handling money.
The last thing we need is for SEPTA to get defunded, enjoy the gift link 🤙

Can you hear this image?

Apparently a lot of farmers didn't bother to plant this year because of the tariffs, which in part caused the dust storm.
