never really been good at the social aspect of social networks... er, I like psychology and I spend my free time playing competitive quiz and building von Neumann-esque 3D printers?
this series is the most ridiculous concept to come out of non-scifi trans literature but it is also the best, @taliabhatt.itch.io @tpwrtrmnky.bsky.social I love you both please write this madness forever
COVER REVEAL: I'm super excited to get to share with y'all the first look at the cover for Estro Junkies, the forthcoming spring 2026 novelization of @taliabhatt.itch.io and @tpwrtrmnky.bsky.social's blockbuster serial Ranked Competitive Breast Growth! ✨💉

I've been waiting for the novel version 👀

A middle school boy created deepfake AI CSAM of his fellow classmate, a 13 year old girl. The girl pleaded with the school but they did nothing and instead put her on a bus with the perpetrator. She ended up hitting him and was expelled but nothing happened to the boy.

oh, that's a labour MP who's using the murder of a trans teen to justify a measure that will further alienate trans teens who rely on the internet for a sense of community, instead of doing anything meaningful to address the rampant transphobia that fuelled her murder.

She has a rationale for it as part of her book promo.

Bonus: she's friends with the mom of one the killers.

Esther Ghey is kind of allergic to talking about the transphobic murder of her daughter as a transphobic murder, huh

“She was completely addicted to her phone, and it was such a distraction. When she was going into the classroom, she was looking at her phone under the table or she was going to the toilet to film TikTok videos.”

I wonder why the trans kid in a violently transphobic society needed online support.

Esther Ghey: "It was just that constant pressure of social media and wanting to get those likes. One of the hardest things was learning about what Brianna was accessing online that was encouraging her to self-harm and develop an eating disorder.”

Did 'the pressure of social media' stab Brianna Ghey
Most of us have pathologically useless parents who don't care to learn about protecting us properly, but this dogshit really takes the cake.

Two teenagers were radicalized by the transphobic political climate into seeing a 15 year old girl as less than human. They killed the girl, and then the girl's grieving mother chose to embark on a moral panic crusade against "self-harm", acquitting the actual perpetrators of her daughter's demise.

When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

Charlotte, whatever you intend this campaign to achieve, trans kids and adults will still be at risk of violence.

It was never the phone that killed Brianna, it was children radicalised by the constant transphobia peddled by the media.

Elites elected after 1979 can't govern. All they know is charge they phone, come up with elaborate new schemes to pay less for an au pair, eat hot chip, and lie
Haven’t read the report yet but this looks to me like another example of adding yet more makework to the immigration process for unclear reasons other than possibly getting mentioned in Politico Playbook.

I feel we really have to do away with the term 'queer rep', the phrase seems to make people associate it with queer characters performing good behavior, and also take it as personal attacks when someone says 'M/F and F/M/F are not sapphic' because they think this is 'representative' of themselves.

only quote skeeting to make a related point, not to dunk on you bc you're right: really the issue is that a lot of trans men feel unsafe around other men but then turn it into an issue of 'we're not REALLY men' (transphobic) instead of asking the question, 'why are men's spaces unsafe for men'
also, like. do trans men actually like have this massive need to be in lesbian spaces? maybe for safety but most trans men i know even non binary ones don't really have the *desire*
the constant discourse about trans men in lesbians spaces is so divorced from reality I s2fg. maybe it's bc I'm from kansas bc "lesbian spaces" = space for anyone, just dominated my lesbians vs "gay space" which is actually advertised as that

Today for @theverge.com, I talk about transfem narratives: the epistemic lockout from mainstream publishing, the advantages and pitfalls of the self-pub model, and what a global transmisogynistic panic implies for our ability to make our voices heard and represent our own lives and worlds.
Trans women are building their own publishing world, and it’s under threat
Online communities are stepping in where traditional publishing stops.

here's a blistering hot take: as much as we joke about "detransitioning from a haircut," cutting your hair short is a significantly more irreversible (in the short term) process than taking hormones for a month. You're not getting the hair back without time, but stopping a short HRT regimen? Easy.

The thing about outwardly visible transition, whether medical or presentational, is that it's a lot harder for others to deny than just declaring your identity. They're sort of forced to Deal With It

Similar to the difference between saying "I'm gay" and bringing a same-gender partner with you.

i mean there is a lot of use in noting that some of us need to medically transition.
If I never hear the word "cissexual" again jfc

There is zero use in dividing us based on whether or not we've medically transitioned.
