We're talking about our favorite microtropes in romance novels--the things that give us pure shots of joy. There's all sorts of stuff in here: contemporaries, historicals, paranormals, mafia, hockey, tattoos, piercings, kilts, families getting their comeuppance, and much much more.

Sorry, but that's why we hate AI.

Sigh. Once again, things you think are ridiculous or wasteful are often meant to or happen to help disabled people. Forearm pan holder? Not because people are lazy. Tide pods? Have you tried pouring detergent with a tremor?

Don’t get me started on the damned pre-cut ingredients.

The WHOLE PLOT is the catastrophic consequences of Frankenstein's failure to take a single shred of responsibility for what he has done

Like...how does anybody read that book without questioning Victor's reliability? not wrt the facts, but like, his "woe is me" spin on them?
I'm losing my mind over how many reviewers are like "GDT's Frankenstein makes you wonder who the real monster is." THAT'S THE STORY! That's the story Shelley wrote!

Is this being partly driven by the decline of the mass market paperback format, increased focus on global sales, and/or on IP for adaptations (CR = cheap to adapt)? Historical romance readers didn't vanish this fast. 🤔 I love the genre, myself!
#romancelandia
Publishers have moved away from publishing historical romances.

I'm sorry, but those are the facts.

Which means, they don't see a good market for historical romances. Fewer readers are buying and reading them.

Sigh.
