Hi hello I am not immunocompromised but still mask every single time I'm on a bus, in a store, or at a concert/big event!! I do it because it's easy and it cuts my risk of an annoying cold by a significant margin!! Simply Do It :)
This! I am also once again begging people to mask at hospitals. Even if you’re not sick, but ESPECIALLY if you are.

(I say this as someone who still masks indoors most places.)
I get why a lot of non-disabled people want to pretend respiratory illnesses don’t exist, but as we’re coming up on another event I can’t safely attend, I encourage you to just THINK about wearing a mask at events - or at least on the train/ plane there, where there’s probably no reason not to

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

One of the many reasons we have to fight the rise of the far right is the risk they pose to undoing the progress we *have* made.
Lot of people are already passing this around with the usual "WHY ISN'T ANYONE DOING ANYTHING" shrieks, while ignoring the fact that the article literally says that this is a *significant* decrease from the warming that we were on track for even a few years ago.
World still on track for catastrophic 2.6C temperature rise, report finds
Fossil fuel emissions have hit a record high while many nations have done too little to avert deadly global heating

*nods* Tim Curry as the villain in The Secret of Moonacre
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.

I’ve seen a few folks go for the “if you simply must watch that new Harry Potter show just pirate it” and sorry. No. Just no. Just don’t watch it. At all. Ever. Break free of it. It’s time. You’ll be ok. I promise. I know it mattered to you as a kid. Find new things, it’s healthier. Just move on.

Cheers to The Wicked + The Divine for making me finally understand I wanted to make comics (which first lead to cringe fan mail because I needed to say it out loud, then lead to me Actually Making Some Comics)
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

I was just settling into an extremely good/funny/scary thriller comic when the antagonist was introduced. She is named Lilian and goes by Lily. This has introduced a strong element of fight or flight to my reading experience.
