Catching up on the ice dance and the Canadians were my personal favourites - elegant, poignant, and they looked beautiful together. Deserved a medal, wish it was higher.

@jamesbluecat.bsky.social You're in a Waterstones 'red carpet looks matched to books'! 😁 (the Wuthering Heights film premiere)

Utterly fed up of sports commentators piling on the pressure with the GB athletes at this Winter Olympics. Do they suddenly believe that we have Norway's climate and talented winter sports athletes are emerging from everywhere? Not at all. We don't have the weather, the facilities or the funding.

Just a last quick mention of this one!
Okay, fam, this book here. Let's talk about it. I had it on my desk, I went in hard at auction, and unfortunately lost out. If fucked-up bone lesbians are your jam, and you want some weird mash-up of Gideon the Ninth and fucking Gormenghast, then get this on your radar. Out in March. It's sublime.

I am eligible for Best Long Form Editor, but there are about fifteen editors I would vote for before myself 😁 Talented folk, in the SFF editorial field!
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Hugo Awards!

Emails are going out to eligible nominators (those who became a member of LAcon V by January 31, 2026, or were a member of the Seattle Worldcon 2025) about how to set up their LAcon V virtual convention account.

Sociopath. Truly.
BONDI: You didn't ask Merrick Garland anything about Epstein

BALINT: Weak sauce

BONDI: And with this antisemitic culture right now, she voted against a resolution--

BALINT: You want to go there! Really? Talking about antisemitism to a woman who lost her grandfather in the Holocaust! *storms off*

After our romance picks yesterday, here's a selection of Solaris titles that either have no romance or aren't focused on romantic relationships! Perfect for those who are fed up of all the Valentine's fuss!

I'm not gonna lie, his use of the phrase STP has just broken me a little.

Is the USA about to invade Mexico?

(Who ever dreamt a sentence like that might be written and actually be worth considering?)

I have lost my ability to sleep thanks to a combination of stress and menopause, and I am so tired I feel like I am dying.

This is an incredibly niche #traitors tweet but having rewatched Series 3 and the extreme unpleasantness and bullying that Leanne did against the other players, particularly Alexander, I wonder how much better Alexander would have fared in the loveliness of Series 4.

I would love to know why anyone has the audacity to put so much pressure and expectation on GB athletes at the Winter Olympics. It's bad enough in the Summer version, but man, this island falls apart when it snows - anyone good enough on snow or ice to even reach the Olympics should be celebrated!

I love all of these an unseemly amount. Amazing work, sir.

Shun Sato was robbed there. His performance was so much more complete than Ilia Malinin. Sure, land all those quads, but where is the dancing part of the routine? Where is the class?
