Or just have him start the next film alive and well and then at some point have someone be like "Bond! I thought you got blown up!" And then have him quip "you know better than to listen to rumors," or "what can I say? That was no time to die" and then absolutely refuse to explain further

It is a bad pain day 😔 Not helped, I'm sure, by Hunter trying to wrap my left forearm around a metal post last night, which prompted a visit to the hospital to get it x-rayed. Somehow that bruising and maybe the shock has turned into full body aches.

it was an absolute pleasure to interview the brilliant and thoughtful @vajra.me, whose writing frequently leaves me floored. the le guin prize is so well deserved
Vajra Chandrasekera (@vajra.me)'s Rakesfall recently received the Ursula K. Le Guin Prize for Fiction. In this new interview, Senior Books Editor @cxorlando.bsky.social asks him the author about genre boundaries, violence in fiction, and how Le Guin has inspired his writing:
A Conversation With Vajra Chandrasekera, Author of Rakesfall - Reactor
"I think writers, like all artists, have a responsibility to act as human cultural workers in an actual society"

If Tim Powers is your jam, I think you'd like When the Winds Sing by @ldcolter.com. This is a beautiful use of Slavic gods and folklore, with characters who leap off the page fully formed.

ICYMI: I wrote a review for Mickey7 by @edashtonwriting.bsky.social.
With a fast-moving story and socially conscious themes, it's a fun, meaningful book, and it's easy to see why Bong Joon-Ho chose to adapt it. 📚💙

Too terribly obsessed with #traitors. Just asked my dog to reveal if she was a traitor or she was a faithful. She wagged her tail so hard that I think she's over-compensating for being a traitor. She's trying to deflect!

Publishing is weird & full of hidden lows and visible highs, but can I just take this wee moment to be extremely un-British and say 'hey I did a thing'?

6 books
5 awards
14 (I think?) award listings

It's been rocky & the road ahead is uncertain but this here is not too shabby, is it?
