If anything this should prove that the Democratic Party is a weak decentralized organization that didn’t put up a fight for their own original healthcare bill in 2010 (which would’ve included a public option) and that the GOP just wants poor and sick people to die.

Everyone will remember that the last deal came with a "promise" for a vote on something that the Senate Ds making the deal cared about (DC funding) which Johnson threw in the trash. Dunno why theyd expect a promise on a healthcare subsidies vote to be any different.

The majority of US voters, so far as I can tell, flatly do not care about trans people one way or another. They aren't necessarily especially friendly to them, but they clearly find the notion that they're supposed to obsess over them distinctly offputting. (Despite major efforts by the right!)

I think a number of press outlets badly want there to be a groundswell of anti-trans feeling, because the ownership/senior editorial of those papers have absolutely cooked their own brains on transphobia. It seems to be largely an elite psychosis!
