this is peak gaming, it's purest essence. this is what every game felt like in the "early days".

everything was random. no one knew what was good. so it was all GREAT.
decided to show some more progress since you guys like it so much

I don't understand ppl who post on BSky regularly, but basically never engage with replies.

Like, do whatever works for you, but my attention and thought is valuable, why should I spend it on someone who gives none of it back?

Inside my brain is one muppet yelling “get work done!” and another yelling “do fun stuff!” and another “make art!” and my entire day is just trying to make as many of these monsters happy at a time as possible

I know so many trans folk who'd KILL to be ignorant about politics, just dopily shuffling their way through the world without ever having to scan a headline
"Why do you have to bring politics into everything you do?" I dunno. Maybe because YOU POLITICIZED EVERYTHING ABOUT MY EXISTENCE. I would LOVE to not think about politics, but it's a privilege that has been taken from me.

I am probably learning the wrong lessons from the "success" of this throwaway post

Good movie
What if one of the guys decides to trick the gorilla and wears a gorilla suit, but the gorilla, anticipating this, wears a human suit, same day, so, tragically, the guy in the gorilla suit is mistakenly beaten to death, and the gorilla assumes the guys life, JUST LIKE IN FACE/OFF

Here's the particular figure I was manipulating (and replicating). Quite a fetching curve, if I do say so myself.

OK, our latest bug has me exhausted:

On specific brands of Android phone (e.g. Pixel 6 / 7 / 8 / 9, OnePlus 12 / 13) the latest Galaxy patch hangs when trying to log the user in via Google Auth.

I've gone down the rabbithole for 2 days and desperate for new ideas. Tech details in 🧵.

Alt text: accessibility AND functionality!

Who would ever think those ever overlap (hint: its always, they always overlap)
here's some groundhog's day bill murray speech bubbles I found handy to use today for posts you're replying to or quote posting. they were simple to find by searching groundhog bill murray speech bubble because cool bluesky users write alt text and search can find that

My entire career is as a software engineer, but I am not an engineer

I am an artist who multiclassed into game design first and engineering second.

Probably "producer" third? Trying to pull "musician" back up into the top three as we speak. "Writer" is in the top 10...

Multiclassing is so broken

I don’t understand how people can just post all day long

How do you put yourself out into the world with so little filtering

(Case study: I have deleted far more words than I have typed for this post)

Was pondering giving upscrolled a look. When I saw their (lack of) moderation promises, I put that on hold…

Looking like a good decision already 😎
An Australian-Jordanian developer launched a TikTok clone called UpScrolled that was supposed to be a haven for pro-Palestinian content in the face of shadow bans. It reached 1,000,000 users this week and sits atop App Store rankings. It is now being subsumed by Nazis, with mods unable to keep up.
TikTok deal fuels rise of UpScrolled, whose founder conceived it as a haven for Palestinian activism - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
Antisemitic content has flooded the app as users surged this week past 1 million.

I've lived this lie since the 80s and I still think programming is, on net, as magical as dragons :)
The greatest lie the 80s told young computer users is that programming would be as magical an experience as the programming textbooks of the 80s promised.
