Yup. Shooting as a first-order verb was a holdover from ZZT and really skewed a lot of the design, and honestly at that age/experience level I needed to be iterative rather than start from zero.

Not saying Z3ux won’t have projectiles but it wouldn’t be at the same level of emphasis at all.

Yeah, and i think for precisely examples like these, that we should also not condone GenAI assets at the design phases either

I am not an AI abolitionist but I emphatically believe it is net negative across all stages of the creative process and am suspect of anything that relied on it for such.

“The fight over companies intentionally polluting our water is overblown. Sewage is going to spill over into our rivers and lakes whether we like it or not”

If a toolbox has slop in it I don’t need that toolbox.

If you think McBride is betraying the trans community or whatever I beg you to get some perspective. She’s neither a monster nor trans jesus. She’s just a politician doing her duly elected job- and she does good things for the community.

The most fucked up thing is that complaints about Sarah McBride are themselves about identity! People are using "politics" to mean the messaging she does, but if you use "politics" to mean actually passing policy, she is an absolute champion of trans people! www.notus.org/congress/dem...

i mean i think the truth is that those of us who think this will probably usually get fired if we become journalists because we’re not good enough at keeping our mouths shut long enough to get powerful people to talk to us, and this is a self compounding problem in journalism

that angle also absolutely applies, although it's amazing how many people talk to the Jon Stewarts and Chotiners of the world thinking it'll be totally fine

yeah, I think it suits the off-beat path of people like Connor and myself where you find yourself in a scenario you aren't beholden to that sort of direct power over your voice.

It's (paradoxically for journalism) harder to do (or convince yourself to do) when your job is involved.
