Voting to fund the government means you voted to fund everything the government is doing. That's the whole point. It's not about some narrow this or that on the margins. You own the whole enchilada, you're saying "yes, this overall package for everything the government's doing is acceptable to me."

If the Democrats aren’t going to fight for the bare minimum for you, then we need to aim for the moon and the stars and go for what we really want. Universal healthcare. Universal basic income. Childcare. Free university education or free trade school.
Democrats won't create the lasting change or tap into the rage of the majority with Schumer and Jeffries in the lead. Centrists won't get it done, no matter how the establishment wills it. The country has radically shifted. The last 10 years is your evidence.

Okay so how do we get the remaining air traffic controllers to strike or at least refuse to work for the planes the senators are on?

It just makes it look like they said, oh, shit, I had to scrap my weekend at the lake house because my flight was canceled. Or worse, the airlines called and I sold out my constituents at the order of the Delta CEO. I’m no Senate whisperer but when people look at the math it isn’t great.

I am not done fighting.
I do need to get a good night's sleep. But please know that I am not done fighting for healthcare. I understand that many of you — many of US — die without medical care.

Chuck Schumer is why Dems keep losing elections. He is old school, out of touch with his voters, he’s not a fighter and he doesn’t represent our majority anymore.

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him
And they should, given this is his fault.
And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.
Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.
He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)
They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

I just called my senators (Warnock and Ossoff) to say that Schumer is not meeting the moment and they need to oust him for someone with fight and urgency. Here's the script I wrote for myself: 🧵
Schumer on government funding: "Our position remains this: We want to keep the government open by engaging in bipartisan negotiation where we can address some of the grave harms Donald Trump has caused to our health care system and help Americans with the cost of living."

Blame *all* Democratic incumbents for this surrender. Not just the ones voting for it. The others could have voted to remove Schumer long ago and install a leader capable of formulating a strategy and holding his people together. They were content to stay with a proven loser.
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.
We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.
A vote for this bill is a mistake.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

We need 24 Senators to replace @schumer.senate.gov as Senate Minority Leader.
To get there, we need 10 Senate Dems to request a special meeting with the conference chair w/ an agenda to remove Schumer and who would replace him. Schumer would b required to hold the meeting within 3. Then they vote.

The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:
Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)
