I will say that I hate that adopted people constantly have to address this question when trying to access their records or other information about *themselves* and their family of origin.

It’s a foundation of their identity. It belongs to them and they’re entitled to have it for that reason alone.
Can anyone point me to a study or other data showing that the majority of relinquishing parents *don’t* want to be anonymous? It’s needed for lobbying.

I can look through the citations in Relinquished by @gretchensisson.bsky.social but I’m hoping someone has quicker access to the info.

All 74 Southern Residents present inland Puget Sound today!
Thank you @orcabehaviorinstitute.org @whaleresearch.bsky.social
Today we were lucky enough to encounter a superpod while on the water in Puget Sound with the @whaleresearch.bsky.social !

For now, we wanted to share an update on 2 of the Southern Resident orcas we get asked about the most: both L25 Ocean Sun and L87 Onyx were there!

Seattle can have a socialist mayor, too. As a treat!

!!!!!
Katie Wilson is up 91 votes in the Seattle Mayor's race as Wilson-mentum continues to pay dividends.
Wilson-mentum is real.

The gap in the Seattle Mayor's race has narrowed to just 4,300 votes, or 1.88%.

My first studio in Seattle had what I now understand was an unusually high (for Seattle) ceiling, and minus the early 1900s house in Tacoma, I've been disappointed by ceiling height in every place I've lived in since.

if "the gospel is political but not partisan" becomes shorthand for "don't you dare imply that God has ever taken a side or categorically condemned anything that was popular," we are not talking about the gospel of jesus christ at all anymore

earlier move panic was that i have no fucking idea how or where the movers are gonna park the truck and now the current move panic is remembering how tiny the lobby, elevator, and hallways in the new place are. this is going to suck so much, 😬

I hope people remember… this is all because we had a Black man as president.

Libs keep saying we need to veer away from “identity politics” b/c they naïvely assume it’s all just the same old “Ds vs Rs.”

When every move Rs have made has been to undo Obama’s work or bring back Jim Crow or both.

The shutdown is over, and fortunately all the Democrats had to give up was healthcare—you know, the thing that determines whether you live or die.

It's insanity to shutdown the government for 40 days, and just when gaining some real leverage, entirely cave. Why make people suffer for 40 days and gain nothing?

It's past time for rank and file democratic politicians to openly call for a change in leadership. We can't keep folding like this.

(To be clear, that was mostly sarcasm...again, this is NOT the end of the road for the ACA/shutdown battle, it kicks it over to the House and even if it passes there it'll still be back in January.)

🫠
The fate of perhaps 1/3 of the ACA could conceivably now rest in the hands of Rick Scott, Mike Lee, Ron Johnson & John Cornyn.

We're living in the most surreal timeline.
