The Gentleman and I went to a coffee shop after a little hike yesterday. It was pretty busy. One of tables had an empty chair that was occupied by a fursuit head. I thought about asking them if I could use that chair, but then it occurred to me the fursuit head might cost more than my car.

I bought a nuc with a neural processor / decent video card for playing with local LLMs. Most of my home lab is named after women in science (Curie and Franklin, specifically). Can I name this machine after Timnit Gebru?

My experiments with shitty LLMs on underpowered machines continue apace. I set up Open-WebUI to do RAG and uploaded PDFs of the owner's manual for my wife's car. Embedding took a solid hour.
Results are mixed. Sometimes you can get an answer with the right prompting, sometimes not.
