Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

8. “Now you’re talking, Noir!” Favourite line in a film noir #NoirvemberChallenge
It's a graphic novel, not a movie* but Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips brilliant Pulp is as noir as it gets. The fatalism in this line, just before the protagonists' final act of violent justice and revenge, is haunting.

It's 20 years since @seanphillips.bsky.social and I exchanged a sketchbook back and forth in the mail, a drawn &painted call and response. INTERSECTIONS may be out of print but here is a flip through that sketchbook. You can still find the book out there :)

Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

What a woman!
I'll always remember this heartwarming goodbye hug when she brought the chimp back to his home in the jungle.

May you rest in peace, Jane Goodall 💔

Tonight, let's all follow Jane Goodall's nightly ritual: watch the sun set, with a glass of good scotch and a passion to leave the world a better place than how we found it. (Illustration by the great Matthew Dow Smith @matthewdowsmith.bsky.social )

if you’re at Word on Street today, check out the these fab (& exclusive to the festival) mini comics by Howie Shia, Kiki Hamazaki, Sandra Dumais @sandradumais.bsky.social and Rosena Fung @rosenafung.bsky.social at the Annick Press booth. Brilliant idea by Annick’s comics editor Serah-Marie McMahon.

Finally watched Raiders of the Lost Ark in black & white, as recommended by Steven Soderburgh. It really makes it look like a movie from well, 1936 and showcases Douglas Slocombe's glorious command of tone and composition. It's the only way to watch it - i mean, look at this:

And Good Morning. Realising today that the Society of Authors (that I'm a member of) might be able to help with comic artists' right to be considered an Author. Which will help clarify where we need to be in the metadata, on systems, databases etc.
It's a fundamental artist's right.

This Thu the 27th, we're having an election in Canada for Ontario's premier, as called by incumbent Doug Ford. Ford has left the province with a whopping $6.6-billion deficit, slashed funding to social programs galore all the while selling huge swaths of our greenbelt to private corporations.

The 2nd time I drew Superman, 2016.

This is a fundraiser poster I made for the Siegel & Shuster Society here in Cleveland. Young Jerry Siegel in front of his boyhood home on the East Side, dreaming of Supes.

This is in the permanent Supes display at the Cleveland Main Library. That's darn cool.
