and as with most Citroen's of that era, a quick photoshop to remove the wheels and it looks like a spaceship.

since Bsky didn't like the last photo i used, lets try that again:
13. Favorite low-budget B Noir. Didn’t Mitch say that the only reason Edward Dmytryk shot Crossfire as a Film Noir was because RKO where so cheap they couldn’t afford more lights? #NoirvemberChallenge

8. “Now you’re talking, Noir!” Favourite line in a film noir #NoirvemberChallenge
It's a graphic novel, not a movie* but Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips brilliant Pulp is as noir as it gets. The fatalism in this line, just before the protagonists' final act of violent justice and revenge, is haunting.

3.The film noir that made you a fan. #NoirvemberChallenge

Wish i could say it was a Bogart classic but nope, it was a forgotten made for tv miniseries with James Coburn as the Continental Op in The Dain Curse.

Tonight, let's all follow Jane Goodall's nightly ritual: watch the sun set, with a glass of good scotch and a passion to leave the world a better place than how we found it. (Illustration by the great Matthew Dow Smith @matthewdowsmith.bsky.social )

if you’re at Word on Street today, check out the these fab (& exclusive to the festival) mini comics by Howie Shia, Kiki Hamazaki, Sandra Dumais @sandradumais.bsky.social and Rosena Fung @rosenafung.bsky.social at the Annick Press booth. Brilliant idea by Annick’s comics editor Serah-Marie McMahon.

grading by "degree of difficulty" though, to go from Ringo basically speak/singing a nursery rhyme to ripping your heart out in a primal scream of existential crisis is my gold standard

New work: single sheet design, folded twice, with a trimmed-off corner to produce a square "viewing" frame inside the opened brochure for artist Bogdan Luca at the theartistproject.com/home/ , with a stand-up business card from the off-cut. He's at booth 822 - right beside the big inflatable letters

Finally watched Raiders of the Lost Ark in black & white, as recommended by Steven Soderburgh. It really makes it look like a movie from well, 1936 and showcases Douglas Slocombe's glorious command of tone and composition. It's the only way to watch it - i mean, look at this:
