Don’t stick receipts in your pocket or purse, y’all.

BPS, cousin to BPA, finally added to the Prop 65 list for reproductive and developmental toxicity. This chemical is used widely on receipts and thermal stickers.

There’s no safe amount of exposure established yet

For months I wasn’t allowed to turn on my mic during work meetings, because the sirens just never stopped.
This is also why I think New Yorkers have a different view on the pandemic than other people. We remember what March and April 2020 was like, we were the part of the country that got to witness how bad it could be. I remember the field hospital and the trucks full of bodies. I remember the sirens.

Look around you. Do you see policies being implemented at scale? Do you see the end of investment into new fossil energy? Do you see phasing out of existing fossil infrastructure? Do you see massive renewables deployment and the lowering of demand for energy and materials?

You do not.

Is it time to test how good of a relationship my boss and I REALLY have 🤔
After much research and development I have made an offline version of ChatGPT.

Now you can save water and electricity while navel-gazing, and carry one of the world's most powerfully annoying AI chatbots in your pocket.

The first time my kid was ever really sick as an infant, we sat up all night holding cool towels to their body, and when the baby meds broke their fever it felt like a literal miracle, and I was nearly insane with gratitude. This was not a serious sickness, just a scary fever for first time parents
Since becoming a parent I have not, in fact, understood the parents who say “if you were a parent you’d understand” about vaccine hesitancy. Being in charge of this fragile little miracle has me saying things like “give her all the vaccines. Turn this baby into a pincushion” to doctors

“How many children work at your factories” 🙃
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Small bag company hired me into a job I was under qualified for, to do important production tasks no one else wanted to do, and abused me horribly. This is a microcosm for the manufacturing industry lol. Also there are some skills NO ONE wants to do so if you do them people are GRATEFUL to hire you
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?
