Explain to me why the price of everything increases. In the chain of events that lead to a specific product or service costing more, where is the origin point?
If you are going to tell me that there are multiple origin points, do they have anything in common, or are they each uniquely unavoidable?
The American penny died on Wednesday in Philadelphia. It was 232. The cause was irrelevance and expensiveness, the Treasury Department said. Nothing could be bought any more with a penny, as the cost to mint the penny had risen to more than 3 cents. nyti.ms/48bFd5K

Three years out, some coalitions that originally opposed the games are now pushing for reforms.

NOlympics LA organizers double down on their position: "Pretending that a 'no harm' version of the Olympics is possible is not only extremely naive. It’s dangerous for what happens to us after 2028"
Olympic reform efforts are setting us up for a double disaster.

The writing is on the wall: people don’t want the Olympics in their city. But for the people of Los Angeles, LA28 brings the possibility of something even more alarming. What if the Olympics never left?

It's funny how hard we have to work to convince the world that uncontrolle data centre expansion is a climate risk when there's a fossil gas power station called the EXXONMOBIL POWER PLANT being built explicitly to power a data centre
Not enough people know about Homer City. The single largest fossil fuel plant that's being built *explicitly* to power a data centre.

This isn't a future projection, or some hollow marketing. This is physical stuff happening right now.

"while Labor’s support for net zero creates no danger for the fossil fuel industry, it creates significant danger for our democracy as millions of voters are tricked into believing that they are voting to tackle climate change, when in reality they are voting for fossil fuel expansion"
Like ‘housing affordability’ ‘net zero’ has become one of those meaningless political sayings

Labors support for net zero hasn’t stopped them supporting new coal or gas or from spending billions on fossil fuel subsidies
