Did you know phones don’t take 8 hours to charge? Apparently if you spend $20 on a block instead of using whatever random block you got with your electric razor or in a box of Frosted Flakes it takes like 45 minutes. O.o

Best of luck to my fellow upstate New Yorkers. It’s rough out there.

Seconded.
Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains.

I’ve been sending stories to @fantasymagazine.bsky.social for years and today is the day I finally have a story out with them!

Wicked proud of this little post apocalyptic haunted highway tale :)

When You Hit the Poison Ivy Thicket, You’ve Gone Too Far - PSYCHOPOMP.COM
The Wandering Woman of 95 paced in slow circles across the four-lane highway, translucent dress billowing about her, long hair a mess of twigs and leaves, also translucent, also dead.

It's 7:15 pm and I just decided what today's focus is! To be clear, I'm normally asleep by 8. But I'm going to try to pound out a weird short story tonight instead of sleep! Wish me luck! There will be tentacles.

Hot Take about Content on Bluesky:

I am completely asexual with no interest in sex beyond that I think it's gross, and I love writing about gross things. And I LOVE how horny y'all are. I might not understand, but it fills me with joy. I love your art and your self expression. Keep it up, folks.

Concept: Swapping half-finished stories with friends, with the understanding that you will each finish each other's story and share authorship. I have so many novellas that are sitting at 10-15k and I just haven't finished. D:

You ever feel like in the equation of FAFO you are in the FO part for a FA you must have done in a past life?

If ever you’re feeling blue, just remember that garlic bread is like $3 a loaf and you could make that happen right now.

me: I'd like a portable speaker with no mic, camera, or AI that has 24 hours of battery time and a battery indicator light.
speakers: WATERPROOF TO 40 FEET FOR EXTREME PARTYING
me: No, I--
speakers: RAINBOW LIGHT SHOW FOR MAX PARTYING
me: There's no party--
speakers: THE BASS WILL KILL YOUR GRANDMA

I'm tired of being surprised by news, so I just went ahead and predicted the publishing news for the next year, month by month.

“Your protagonist must be an active force.“

I like to write (and read) about characters who can’t or won’t be active, for any number of compelling reasons. There are so many kinds of stories to tell; why limit ourselves to the self-proclaimed “heroes”?
what is your least favorite piece of writing advice and why? 👀

I would be proud to be on the quoted person's labels.

Generative AI is a cancer upon the creative arts, cannibalizing them and producing 18% gray slop. It cannot wander, it cannot wonder.

And it does this wondrous sewage at a high cost.

If you ever self-publish anything, you learn what an Amazon ranking of 2,000,000+ actually means. And then you see the rankings for your favorite indie authors and feel sad and hate the system.

I like to imagine Santa Claus, instead of belting a hearty Ho Ho Ho!, instead doing his best rendition of the intro to Blue Foundation's "Eyes on Fire."

Had a great year of reading in 2025! Some of my favorite books were:

1. Oh crud
2. I forgot to track
3. I’m so bad at this
4. Why can’t I get my life together
5. Of Monsters and Mainframes
