It’s another Saturday at the Library!

Is the Nor’easter going to hammer us with snow this weekend?

Do you have enough books to get you through all that potential snow?

If the answer is no, definitely don’t forget to stop by your local library today to pick up all the books your heart desires!

It’s always a nice feeling when you’re reading back through your novel edits and you’re like Hey, this is good.

Much better than the usual Hey, this is bad.

For the @strangehorizons.bsky.social 2026 Criticism Special, I wrote about weird fiction being constituted by weird reading, vis a vis Sederholm and Woofter’s The Weird and @undertow.bsky.social’s The Best Weird Fiction of the Year, Vol. 1., in tribute to Maureen Kincaid Speller. It’s a long one.
The Brackish Pool: Towards a Critical Practice of Reading Weird Fiction
The ideal reader of the weird has to embrace a kind of wilful suspension of foreknowledge or generic expectation.

Abolish ICE
Videos verified by The New York Times show the man federal agents shot and killed in Minneapolis on Saturday was holding a phone, not a gun, before the agents took him to the ground and shot him. At least 10 shots appear to have been fired within five seconds. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

It’s another Saturday at the Library!

And it’s the Saturday before a major snow storm.

Remember, if you live a the area with a ton of snow predicted, today is the day to stock up on books and movies from the library!

Be prepared! You don’t want to be caught without a book.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the bookstore... It is! Because sharks rarely hurt humans and are unfairly treated like monsters rather than the beautiful animals they are! Plus most sharks do not go in bookstores.

Also Blahaj here has incredible taste in literature.
