If you're a little artist who just wants to tell a Cool Story you don't want to learn to code load-bearing shit like a save system, trust me
rpgmaker definitely isn't the right tool for everyone, but I think using opinionated pre-baked tools to make some games would be very instructive to a lot of folks setting out to make their epic custom dream game. they're a much lower-stakes way to learn important lessons like "how to tell a story"

A lot of people really don’t realize that there is a vast amount of information out there that is not online and plausibly never will be, or can’t be.
I think that's a point that will surprise a lot of people. There's a lot of calling the internet capable of accessing "the sum of all human knowledge" and such that I think gives people the impression that any and all records exist online somewhere.

Playtesters told us they didn't have enough information about the settlement and settlers, so we added this handy mode (accessible via the HQ) to convey that stuff! And holy heck, it's in the demo right now!

I went with some students (semiors) for beers. Some of them competed in a ski ball tourney. We talked about the ways they are getting out the and transitioning into the professional world. We talked about the state of things.
Art school is fun and good, and the the kids are alright.

Anyone know Rake in Grass? Jets n Guns might be their most well known game, but they've done a ton. They're legit one of my favorite small studios. Their games feel handcrafted. This is the first I'm seeing of Underkeep... as a fan AND as someone who wants to make a crawler, I can't wait.

I've been playing through all of the deus ex franchise and dang... good, interesting games. They all act as a time capsule of the era they were made in, while also being all very relevant to today. Both in terms of message and lessons for the craft of game development

I think this is another branch on the tree of "you should give a shit about other people". Twenty five years of having the worst impulses of right wing amplified by dipshit opportunists have left a lot of people here unable to understand the very ~concept~ of community. Of society, even.
I do think that a possibly underrated dynamic in The Horrors is that the Right as it has reconstituted itself under Trump legitimately can’t understand sincere moral or physical courage
