So, since Trump started throwing tariff threats around, the EU has announced a deal with Mercosur* and now has a deal with India imminent.

Trump and the USA are the big losers here but I’m old enough to remember Brexiters gibbering about the Anglosphere.

Fucking wake up Starmer, clock’s ticking.

This has been on the horizon for some time.
It's the culmination of Wakefield and weaponisation of mRNA vaccines by RFK Jr, Malhotra, Malone etc etc...

@independentsage.bsky.social put this out last year. We hope it helps.

Please, vaccinate your kids 🙏

What's making me really livid right now is thinking back to the years of commentary lecturing us that the rise of MAGA was rooted in a sense of righteous victimization by overbearing liberal elites, and sneering at those who insisted that it was fundamentally about domination and sadism all along.
They are telling us in unequivocal terms that if you show solidarity with immigrants who are in the literal crosshairs of Trump/MAGA, you're risking a death sentence.

Having actual veterans of Afghanistan like @louisesandherjones.bsky.social and @alcarns.bsky.social as ministers in our British government, telling it like it is, will hopefully remind our allies exactly how much NATO countries have need to have each others’ backs, in the past and the future

This whole Trump thing about European soldiers staying in the rear areas in Afghanistan is obviously nonsense.

Who in their right mind would run the risk of running into Pete Hegseth?

Picking on this as an example, but could equally easily refer to Littlejohn’s arselicking article about his willingness to literally sell his out own country to Trump.
Meanwhile, U.S. Members of Congress appeared alongside George Simion, leader of Romania’s far-right AUR—a figure widely criticized for pro-Russian rhetoric and positions—while cutting a Greenland-shaped cake decorated with a U.S. flag.

We've spent ten years being proved right about all the things the loudest, biggest voices in the UK media insisted, often obnoxiously, we were wrong about. The real kicker is that there's no consolation whatsoever in being correct. Brexit, Putin, Johnson, Truss, Trump, Twitter, Netanyahu etc etc...

It’s a real shame that Nigel Farage is too unwell to do interviews the morning after Donald Trump threatens us with sanctions.

Here he is with “the bravest man he ever met”. He campaigned to make Trump President, and has spent the last year enjoying all the chaos he has caused.

Let's be clear what a pack of treasonous lies and crap this is.

1. There is no sign of any Chinese threat to Greenland, or even reason for China to particularly threaten the place.
Is this the supposed "national sovereignty" that the Brexiteers and right-wing newspapers said they cared about?

Posted this thread the day Trump was elected.

Anyone want to tell me I was wrong?

All the Trump-whispering, “Give him a state visit, flatter him, we are so much more subtle and sophisticated…"

Load of bollocks and waste of time.
If any British politician "congratulates" Trump on his victory or "looks forward to working with him" they can fuck right off now and forever.

Apologies to @frwildflowers.bsky.social, who posts gorgeous pictures of North American plants that are balm to the soul, but Pedicularis groenlandica means literally Greenland Lousewort, and for some reason that seems a bit on the nose right now.

It finally dawned on me that when Paine said ““These are the times that try men’s souls” he meant “test”, not “oppress”. And, yes, these are the times when we’re getting to see what Americans are made of, who’s gold, and who’s, well, not.
I like how the general Bluesky vibe on Will Stancil went from "Yeesh that guy's kinda cringe" to "YE GODS HE'S OUT THERE DOING THE WORK, THAT'S OUR BOY OUT THERE" pretty much overnight.

During the passage of every piece of new immigration legislation since the NABA 2022, those of us who work with survivors of trafficking have told the government again and again that they will cause greater harm to survivors and embolden traffickers. They ignored us. Now we’re seeing the proof.
A new report out today by Unseen, a leading charity which manages the modern slavery helpline, has found that immigration laws brought in since 2022 have helped trafficking thrive.

The changes have contributed to a "culture of disbelief" in victims.

Obviously not the main problem here, but one of my bugbears is the idea that something or other is bad for children, so they should not be exposed to it at all, then at age 18 (or whatever) magically it’s OK for them to dive right in, with no previous controlled exposure.
“Deepfake child pornography is fine as long as only adults get to see it” is a curious place for the modern Conservative Party to find itself, but here we are
