Just saying aloud. The new colonialism. The US will "control the incredible natural resources of Venezuela." What might the people of Venezuela have to say about that?

His administration has driven extremism and cruelty while discarding basic safeguards and accountability.

5 years ago, selfish entitled people tried to overthrow our government. As has happened throughout their lives, after initially held accountable, they were coddled & enabled & then pardoned after their selfish leader was re-elected president. Everything flows from that fact.

Good for Rep Smith. The rule of law being utterly destroyed IS a “kitchen table issue” and if you can’t frame it that way, that’s on you.

One salient point

If-as Marco Rubio claimed-the abduction of Maduro was merely a law enforcement issue based on valid indictments, and not a war

Why is it necessary for the US to “run” Venezuela? They already have a government in place

And why is Trump asserting a right to take the country’s oil
Crockett: "Everyone wants to talk about how Maduro was illegitimate. As we sit here on January 6, I do want to be clear: somebody else was trying to be a Maduro of the United States. Somebody else wanted to do the exact same thing. The difference is Maduro was successful."

Don't let this Jan 6th point get lost:

Jack Smith testified to Congress he had "proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election."

In other words, he could prove in court that Trump attempted a coup.

You know, if this was a military operation, they could claim they only targeted combatants.

If it was a law enforcement operation, they just killed 40+ innocent bystanders.

Something to think about at their trials.
