I feel like we need more roads and streets to get bidirectional paths on both sides. This exists in some places here, like on Normandale Boulevard and Cedar Grove Parkway, but there's plenty of other roadways+streets where there's enough space to fit them on both sides.

Let us be clear: This is a fraught moment, and one that has polarized not only Americans but people all over the world. It demands incredible sensitivity and strict adherence to journalistic standards of objectivity, and simply put, that is something we aren’t willing to do.
‘The Onion’ Stands With Israel Because It Seems Like You Get In Less Trouble For That
The past week has shown humanity at its worst: A horrific terrorist attack left at least 1,300 Israelis dead, among them peace activists and even innocent children. The fates of many more kidnapped ...

Crossing a parking lot & overheard a man trying to rush a senior along. "Hurrah up, you are holding up cars".

Me very loudly: "That car can wait. Cities are for ppl not cars".

Younger man was abashed but senior turned around & gave me a thumbs up.

We can normalize this.

NEW METROLINK TRAINS REVEALED

The board will vote on a purchase of these new train sets in a few days.

These are high floor Metro-LRVs-things derived from the Siemens s200 platform, similar to what San Francisco Muni and Calgary use.

Continuing from the Edina Promenade, Nine Mile Creek trail run right up against the border of Richfield and Edina along Xerxes Ave, before crossing the entirety of Richfield along 75th & 76th streets.

Time to fix my lack of posting with a quick tour of the Edina Promenade. An example of how to integrate regional trail planning into suburban infill development. Connecting into the Nine Mile Creek regional trail, there is neat developments in this section through Edina, like the Centennial Lakes.

What's great about this, is you can actually see apples-to-apples street design comparisons with other cities building out bike infrastructure, and the natural progression of what their next rebuilds will look like in the future.
Utrecht (NL) changed so much! The Mariaplaats 1993 vs 2023. From an environment designed for cars where people get the rest space to a place for people where cars are guest. The trees are the same but 30 years older.

Assorted bits of traffic calming in South St Louis.

The city has been aggressively building effective but inexpensive traffic calming solutions over the last few years, most of these are pretty new.
