#1001albums day 4: Jeff Beck: Truth: 1968. A real classic, Jeff's first solo album post Yardbirds, heavily featuring Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, this is a great heavy blues-rock album. I've got the expanded CD reissue to listen to today, lots of bonus tracks.

It's disgraceful that Rachel Reeves didn't take any questions from GB News! The fact that they claim to not be a news channel every time Ofcom find they have breached impartiality rules shouldn't stop them from pretending they are a news channel whenever it suits them.

Anybody who had a vision to bring American levels of political, cultural and social polarisation to Britain - whether their motive was clicks or cash, ideology, boredom or anything else - would make it their top strategic priority to abolish the BBC, or to damage and diminish it at the very least
Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.

Nice to see he’s still going strong. Just like his namesake band in Glasgow (that I was once part of).

A charity is gaining momentum pushing for state-subsidised diners to be reintroduced across the UK to improve access to affordable, healthy, and climate-friendly food.

Not everyone is convinced, however, that there's a chance in the current political climate.

What if dinner was public infrastructure?
A Scottish charity wants to reintroduce state-subsidised diners for all—potentially a big ask in the current political climate.
