Trump claimed the power to unleash a tariff war by declaring a “national emergency.” This is clearly a false predicate.

The tariff power lies with Congress per the Constitution. Trump’s invocation of an “emergency” in order to punish countries whose leaders don’t grovel is utterly ridiculous.
Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

But see, you could be happy because you have those hobbies, passions, and relationships to find happiness in, and money just makes that easier.

Wealth just makes you more of who you are. Elon Musk is, at heart, a miserable person
bro if i had like 1% of his wealth i would just buy and paint ungodly ammount of minis, spend my days making art that i don't even have to sell, hire people to make my dream game (who cares if it doesn't sell well !) and treat all my friends to some restaurant on the weekend
SKILL. ISSUE.
it’s genuinely reassuring to me that this is the most miserable and paranoid person in the entire world

If a university student group had celebrated Charlie Kirk being killed, complete with a graphic made from an actual picture of the killing, the whole lot of them would have been expelled before the ink on the digital story was dry.

In Printz v. United States, #SCOTUS held that the Constitution bars the federal government from forcing or otherwise compelling local or state governments to enforce federal law.

The liberal squish who wrote the majority opinion in that case? Justice Antonin Scalia:

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power

- file impeachment articles every day in the House

- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee

- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

The Government is The Mob Now, part who even remembers anymore
How long until Maduro is pardoned in exchange for American companies' access to Venezuelan oil fields?

A reminder: just weeks ago, Trump pardoned a former Honduran president who was convicted in the U.S. of drug trafficking and sentenced to 45 years in prison.

What the fuck. Trump is claiming the U.S. military captured a sitting head of state in his own country, with no extradition process & no legal authority.

No matter what you think of Maduro, that’s absolutely insane behavior—and a precedent that should alarm anyone who cares about international law.

Doesn't really matter if Maduro was behind half the shit Miller & Co believe he did/does. This is illegal and all Western governments should call it into question. This Admin's guiding national strategy document marked European democracies as their enemies for not confirming to their policies.

I think one of the things that people are going to have to get comfortable with is, while Bush, Reagan, etc. had polices & stances you likely VERY much disagreed with. I certainly do!

But the country is best served when there are two well-functioning parties that disagree but can co-exist.

When you're told behind closed doors "We're keeping the government closed to protect Trump", this isn't what they meant
Tom Emmer: "Most of these senators are scared to death that if they vote to reopen the govt, the insane, I would argue, the people that frankly fantasize about the assassination of our great president, that they will turn on them. They're doing this for the smallest group of ppl, the most violent"

Trump's move "is a pure attack on Congress & consequently, on the rule of law. It reduces Congress to a single, negative power: the right to not appropriate any money. Anything they do grant the executive might end up being spent on anything. Welcome to England, circa 1615." *Way* beyond impoundment
