If the rumors about this website’s imminent demise turn out to be true, you can still get all my hottest takes Thursday nights at the MSP Int’l Airport Freedom of Expression booth by baggage claim 3.
In anticipation of the monthly sandwich alarm, I’d like to report that the new chicken fried steak sandwich at North Star Deli is a friggin’ game changer—but you gotta eat it before the bottom slice of Texas toast gets too soggy.

Thinking I might build one of those Little Free Libraries, but for cool rocks that I’ve found.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts
I'd be happy with big non politics accounts.

Reminder: None of this is perceptible to Offline Americans. If you don’t really spend much time online, there’s nothing particularly unusual about Donald Trump’s presidency.
Between Christmas & today, Trump shared images of & links to posts from QAnon influencer "The SCIF" at least 8 times, all to push false election fraud claims.

Additionally, Trump shared an image from another QAnon figure to connect The SCIF's election fraud claims to Trump's actions in Venezuela.

Personally I do think it’s very cool when you spend 2 years working on a project about a sport you love and then some guy takes the transcripts of it to spit out an AI script for himself to read over a YouTube video for money. Thanks David!!!!!
Love seeing my friend @johncullen.bsky.social’s hard work on Broomgate get chewed up and shit out into some dickhead’s video essay for morons. But hey at least he linked to the podcast he stole in the description!

2024: I’m voting for Trump to keep the US out of wars.

2026: It’s not really “war” if you’re just dropping a bunch of bombs on a smaller country.

THREAD: Viral misinformation on US capture of Nicolas Maduro - 4 January

This video, shared by Alex Jones and others, falsely claims to show millions of Venezuelans in Caracas celebrating Maduro's capture.

In fact, it shows anti-Maduro protests in July 2024 over a highly disputed election.

Hot chicken is the new IPA.
I was just thinking out loud to my dad recently that this city may have hit Peak Hot Chicken.
Remember when everyone was going apeshit over chicken sandwiches?

In all fairness, “kidnapping” isn’t on the cognitive test doctors keep giving him.
Q: Rodriguez called it a 'kidnapping' of Maduro

TRUMP: That's alright. That's not a bad term.
January 5, 2026 at 1:55 AM
Has corporate media *ever* pushed back on this?
Q: You've talked about returning some control to American companies. Did that play at all into your decision to capture Maduro?

TRUMP: No. What really played is the fact he sent millions of people into our country from prisons and mental institutions

I think the thing that infuriates me the most about opinion journalism is there’s absolutely no accountability—in any other field, you’d be fired for being consistently and/or catastrophically wrong, but Maureen Dowd still has a job. Ross Douthat still has a job. Bret Stephens still has a job. Etc.
