At this point I think we can safely say all branches of our government have been rendered neutral by a felon. We need to start over from scratch with a system that is affective for all- not merely the rich and corrupt politicians at every level. Shut it down and reboot.

This gets the recent history backwards. Nearly every shutdown in the past three decades stemmed from Congress’ own internal gridlock, its inability to send any bill to the president’s desk. These weren’t battles between Congress and the White House. They were congressional Republicans holding the government hostage to extract concessions they couldn’t win through normal legislation. The current rules aren’t neutral. They’re a structural gift to the party that wants government to do less. Republicans keep their priorities funded during shutdowns while Democratic priorities—environmental protection, workplace safety, food assistance—get decimated. This asymmetry explains why Republicans consistently trigger these crises while Democrats scramble to end them. When the rules reward your side for creating chaos, why would you want to change them? Democrats need to recognize this isn’t a shared problem requiring bipartisan solutions. It’s a systematic disadvantage they must fix when they have the power to do so. The next Democratic president should issue the corrective memo. No negotiation. No compromise. Just restore the system that worked for a century.

So in Gates of Eidolon, the Hero Stats work... interesting hahaha. In the Urde System, all 7s is the neutral state for stats. So the stats that will be variable for heroes need to go down by one (making them 6) but will need points put in from 1-5 (8 points)

The portrait thus records not only young Rebecca’s refinement but the hidden labor of African and Indigenous people whose dispossession and forced work underwrote Salem’s elegance. A ghostly-pale girl stands before a warm, neutral background with her dark hair drawn back and her gaze steady and self-possessed. She wears a rose-colored silk dress with pale blue-gray ruffles that frame her neck and sleeves while the sheen of the fabric is painted in thin, careful layers. In her right hand clings a soft gray pet squirrel, probably an elite colonial child’s companion, signaling gentility and leisure. Her body is turned slightly to the our left, so that the oval of her face becomes the focus. Nothing around her tells of labor or landscape; this is a portrait of status, youth, and belonging in mid-18th-century New England. Keep in mind that you likely pay more than $2-5K per year in healthcare costs, in a private insurance based system. So at worst it would be a net neutral: paying $5K in taxes instead of sending that money to a corporation.

Failing to get young people invested in and connected to the social order means they will find something else to invest in and connect to.
