When Donald Jumani Trump talks about wanting to 'make things fair', he usually means that he wants to make them the opposite of that. Happy to help.

While Trump murders people on boats for supposedly trafficking drugs, Jonathan Braun, a convicted drug trafficker serving a 10 year sentence he pardoned in 2021, will be sentenced in court today after he sexually assaulted a woman after Trump freed him from prison.

Maguire doing a great job on #Skypapers. His counterpart is Sarah Vine, who, as ever, is thicker than a longshoreman's forearm.

The one positive thing I've taken from this evening's shit-show is that people are now openly talking about Robbie Gibb. As Kevin Maguire said: "imagine the furore if Labour had put Alistair Campbell on the board of the BBC..." 🤣

Maxwell getting leniency is one of the disgusting, blatantly corrupt things I've seen #Newsnight

JRM was, of course, happily supporting up for Trump during his sexual assault trial and subsequent guilty verdict. But condemning the BBC when you work on GB News is laughable #Newsnight

Rees-Mogg is seriously out of his depth here. Notably, he wouldn't answer Tett's question, either #Newsnight

The editing decision was not worthy of note when it was broadcast. It was entirely suitable for the context of the show, in that it was compressing time to illustrate a larger news story. Common practice. Taken out of context, it'll look odd. Those using it as proof of bias are liars #newsnight

Good to see #Newsnight going hard with Epstein/Maxwell. He's a foreign leader trying stick his oar into our affairs with a legal shakedown for cash. Release the Epstein files.

Just seen Mason gabbling like a fool trying to defend Robbie Gibb. Tbf, he looked visibly very rattled. Clearly forced out to try and divert. Not his finest hour, in a career littered with, let's face it, shit moments.

So Trump threatening the BBC with legal action, now? More 'protection money' bullshit. Boris Johnson, Robbie Gibb and their Telegraph buddies who made this mess should chip in on that, rather than us. Pricks.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

The BBC World Service is pretty solid, overall. Which is probably why they're attacking it now #politicslive

The quite odious Tory Huddlestonebis looking more and more like Badenoch's replacement, tbh. He can put a sentence together and has the usual array of flags in his office. #politicslive

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

Bias against Donald Trump? Seriously?!? Glad to see Davie go, tbh. But this stinks. As with America, Trump & his buddies are trying to buy up media institutions. Davie's assassination was set up by Michael Prescott, who was employed by...guess who? Robbie Gibb.
