"When Paisley Abbey underwent restoration in the early 1990s, several damaged gargoyles were replaced. The stonemasons commissioned to carve the new grotesques decided to have a bit of fun — and one carved an alien."

She's pretty high up there, I couldn't hazard a guess on the # though. Being blind has taught her how the air feels when it's occupied ahead, her hands know the tells of stonemasons and carpenters signaling corners or doors/windows being prepared for in the architecture. That said, she's taken to//
#wolqotd on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being clumsy mess that alerts the enemy with the clapping of them cheeks and 10 being I AM THE NIGHT, how stealthy is your WoL/OC? Could they get in/out of a location absolutely undetected or they have the diva genes and can't function without making an entrance

We have discovered a planet. It is through the lookingglass. The sun weakly glistens a hazy ultramarine. If there are stonemasons there, perhaps I might learn.

So apparently you're not supposed to fly drones on the Woodchester Mansion estate… but I got some shots before I found that out 🙃

Strange place… build started in 1858, and stopped in 1873, unfinished. Trainee stonemasons now gradually add to it.

4) in ancient Hebrew script (the Siloam Inscription) was discovered inside the pool in 1880 (the Ottoman occupation) describing the dramatic moment of the two groups of stonemasons' meeting.

The original inscription is currently on display in the Archaeological Museum in Istanbul.

3) Book of Kings 2 and Chronicles.

The tunnel is curved and is approximately 533 meters long.

It was carved by two groups of stonemasons who worked towards each other from both ends, and met in the middle, an extraordinary engineering achievement for that period.

An ancient inscription

What did you nearly buy? Summer 1989, I nearly bought a gargoyle. You heard me. £100 (£267 in today's money). Every night I saw it outside an ornamental stonemasons in Camden as I staggered from The Falcon to my UCL halls after watching Ride or Silverfish or whoever. Only the weight put me off.

In the Red Sands, craftsmen usually occupy the middle class of society, especially metalworkers and stonemasons, but since each region of the Red Sands is functionally autonomous, this isn't always the case. Nobles have no strict hierarchy, but...

The HOA, city zoning board, stonemasons, and illuminati are conspiring to stop me from making the world's biggest grill.

You have discovered a planet. It is quite a conundrum. It has clouds made of xenon. Do you dream that there are stonemasons there?

Local urban legend says (so probably not true but a fun story) the Freiburg Münster's 13th century stonemasons were fired by the Mayor, but told to finish the gargoyles before they left, so this one is pointing towards Freiburg City Hall 👍🏛️🍑 #MuseumBums

In some regions I think soldiers were making these tombstones instead of professional stonemasons - which might explain why some are not done very well!

I can but try. Stonemasons do amazing work.

Kobold facts: kobold stonemasons are clever and creative kobolds that can make a solid stone fortress look like a rickety cave-in waiting to happen and vice versa, proving that illusion and psychological manipulation are both effective and hilarious forms of camouflage.

The Victorian Gothic revival was an odd thing- they liked the aesthetic of Gothicism, but with access to modern materials and the capability to build and plan more cleanly than medieval stonemasons ever could have.

-Not related to fashion but to Salt, Ala Mhigan Stonemasons actually make bricks of salt crystal to use in architecture. Some Ala Mhigan mages discovered they became modest light sources when either levin or fire aspected aether is channeled through them, making them a mainstay in temple complexes.

The Viking and Mongol/Tatar threats to Europe get contained by geometry nerds, stonemasons, and carpenters.

Raiding is a lot less economical when every shithole village has at least a rudimentary castle nearby to run to.
Athens outlasts Sparta. The Romans conquer the various barbarians. The Vikings get cooked into good Europeans. Napoleon loses. The South loses. The Germans and Japanese lose.

Every single one of these vaunted warriors lose to nerds who like to build stuff and who care about details

Example of a new one:

"Stonemason's Day"

A Stormwind festival that revolves around the anniversary of the rebuilding of the city following it's destruction, but also a memorial for the ones who fell defending it in the First War and the Stonemasons who were wronged by the House of Nobles.

The roads are a bit mushy along the detour we have to take as they near completion of First Bridge. The cold, wet weather has made sure of that. I marvel at the skills of the stonemasons as they build the new span. Strength and elegance is already apparent as its arches take shape.
