do The Drolatic Dreams Of Pantagruel count as medieval?

Runner ups include the end of Cold Steel, the Arc’s emergence in SC, Rean’s escape on the Pantagruel in CSII, and Agnès and René showing up at the start of Daybreak II.

I could probably name a few more including from Horizon, but I’ll hold back to stay out of spoiler territory.

Ignare.

which is supposed to undermine prevailing norms and hierarchies. That's "Gargantua and Pantagruel" by François Rabelais.

Look at this study about the "soldierly man": Klaus Theweleit, Male Fantasies. Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 1987; Polity Press, 1987.

Pantagruel, ¿qué te cuentas?
¿almorzaste arroz y papas?
¿llueve mucho y no te empapas?
¿andas a gatas o a tientas?
¿Te fijas en las tormentas?
sólo los lunes de mayo.
Esos días cuando el rayo
da sombra a las margaritas
y ponen voces chiquitas
los truenos a mí caballo.

On this day in 1541, the notorious provocateur Francois Rabelais published the book that became central to the Enlightenment. It was the third installment of his five-volume series "Gargantua and Pantagruel."

With these words he did cry like a cow, but on a sudden fell a-laughing like a calf, when Pantagruel came into his mind. Ha, my little son, said he, my childilolly, fedlifondy, dandlichucky, my ballocky, my pretty rogue!

Ooh, yeah, some great stuff in that one, too!

A shame "Pantagruel" didn't catch on as a word the same way "Gargantua" did. We coulda had Toho's "War of the Pantagruels".

Ah, poor Pantagruel, thou hast lost thy good mother, thy sweet nurse, thy well-beloved lady! O false death, how injurious and despiteful hast thou been to me! How malicious and outrageous have I found thee in taking her from me, my well-beloved wife, to whom immortality did of right belong!
