If you are heading out to my chic side of town then I think Hiraeth, Milkwood, Thomas and Purple Poppadom are all grand

In town, The Potted Pig is good

Just the other side. Vegetarian Food Studio is criminally under rated /Matsudai is as highly rated as it should be.

Finally framed and hung a bunch of pictures, including my *gorgeous* @thisnorthernboy.bsky.social print

The area my parents' house is in is FULL of milkwood trees and the flowers stink like rotting trash from November to April. I am SO sick of this awful smell every time I leave the house.

Milkwood Community Park replaced Nevill's Bakery and cleared wartime-damaged housing, featuring a refurbished playground, sports pitch, raised mounds, and a mini-allotment.

Many years ago (1973) at my boarding school we had a semester on plays. We read: JB, Under Milkwood, Our Town, Genet’s The Balcony, The Glass Menagerie and we had to write a term paper and shorter papers on each play. I wrote my term paper on Japanese Kabuki and Noh theatre.

Yeah I know there is a specific bit of Chrismas nostalgia from Thomas, but for some reason the Burton recording of Under Milkwood really does it for me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVun...

Merry 'Listening To The First Really Good Bit Of Richard Burton's Under Milkwood' season to those who celebrate.

Plus your regular reminder that Donald Dunn and Dylan Thomas were never seen in the same room

Weirdly, another of my better memories is playing Mrs. Dai Bread Two in Under Milkwood my freshman year. Dylan Thomas, sneaky patron saint of my poetry fueled college years.

More high-rise development in Herne Hill so I don’t have to get battered in the Milkwood Road wind tunnel, that’d be great thanks

The greatest peewit pic I've ever seen.

Also, er... How on earth was it snapped from that angle?!?!

Extra point for Kidwelly being a place mentioned in Under Milkwood!
Couple of hours at Kidwelly Quay. Siberian Chiff, 10 Rb Mergs, c30 Snipe and a few distant Pintail. #birdigWales

yeah as noted upthread i haven't been to a restaurant of his in a decade, last time was milkwood which i liked too, despite not having the best experience working at 610.
November 25, 2025 at 1:51 PM
I saw that too, and that tracks with what I've heard.

I've enjoyed his restaurants over the years (I loved MilkWood), but he seems to have a pattern of opening and then abandoning them.

I thought I would try it but just didn't. I went to milkwood and it was pretty good. The best I had from his restaurants was a burger at Whiskey Dry that was in 4th Street Live.

What a bloody beautiful book! Even after only a few flicks through, I can see this is going to be awesome. The pictures and prose are giving me an “Under Milkwood” vibe. Great job @ianmcque.bsky.social @rossignol.bsky.social . Looking forward to diving in properly.

It's #folktaleweek2025 day 3: RAIN

Having fun with this format conceptually. Had this thought at Milkwood this year. Does the sun recognize rains importance? Are they equals? Is the earth just thankful for their dance?

Had a gret time on Second Life this am. Milkwood writers are so fun! I need to do that more. Thx for inviting me!

When I was small my parents had to explain to me that printed version of Under Milkwood was not in fact related to the Hobbit, because Milkwood is not the same as Mirkwood

His reading of 'Under Milkwood' from the National was also fantastic and is on YouTube and other services.

while also building a more sustainable future for the country. Located just outside Cape Town, Milkwood City seeks to create a modern urban space for up to one million residents. However, the construction of Milkwood City has been stalled by legal complications from building a new city.
