Its tough to get a read on Klyden, his misogyny is clearly fueled by [SPOILER] his self hate for also being born female and him not wishing the same fate for Topa is an act of love as much as it is an act of bigotry. It's sticky and good writing and the Moclans are well written. The humans are not

Klyden sucks sooooo bad. It is impressive being the absolute worst man on a show that also has a Seth MacFarlane character.

Man, Klyden sucks, but it's also so clear that he has very many unresolved issues and self hatred from his own forced gender reassignment surgery. It's impossible to separate why he sucks from all of the gender stuff and the general Moclan society. It's all tied together.

Because their species' culture is closed-minded, bigoted, and violently oppressive toward minorities (females), Klyden, upon learning he was born female and surgically altered as an infant, deals with his lifelong feelings of depression by doubling down on what he's been taught.

I understand it was narratively necessary, but I think Bortus forgave Klyden too quickly. I would have welcomed him back to co-parent, but not gotten back together with him.
And I'm not just saying this because I would have loved to have seen where that wild Bortus/Kelly moment could have gone.

Topa instantly feels right in her new body. Klyden abandons Bortus and Topa. (for a while, anyway)
On the surface, this seems to be in favor of letting kids undergo transition if they don't feel right in their own bodies.
