Talking about movies, TV (Star Trek among others), fandom, my life, and most importantly, my cat.

One of my internet pet peeves is someone making a statement on the internet, maybe even as a resonance to a question asking for opinions and ending the statement with "that's just my opinion."

It grates at me.

I have to watch a movie in English tonight so I have some kind of chance at multi-tasking.

My brain: Remember that South African movie you looked up last night?

Wow, way to call me out, Helping. Every restaurant is a solo dining spot if I'm there, actually.

Long hair cat problems: Poop in the tail.

Like, I realize this happens with short hair cats too, but probably not this often. There's just so many more options for poop to go.

It's nice to good cry at work. Just spend nearly 15 minutes on the phone with a mom casually flipping back and forth between her non-binary kid's he/they pronouns. I know it's small in the grand scheme of things, but those little things are so important.

Nothing like finding the Adderall you didn't take at 11:20. That... explains a lot, actually.

Look at that, I got my insurance updated SIXTEEN HOURS before my therapy appointment. I'm so on top of things, it's like I hardly even have ADHD. 😂

You know, I wasn't looking for "who in this movie has been on Star Trek" when I was looking up the actors in this Italian film from 1972, but you'll never guess what I learned about one of the women in this movie.

Sometimes, I'm sure I am spelling a word wrong, and then when the little red line doesn't appear, I still think I have done something wrong.

I'm so glad so many of these Is This Thing On? reviews on letterboxd include the phrase "was that the horse from Horsin' Around?"

I love this so much. Every time they cut down the Nicole Kidman video, I'm going to repost this (AMC sent Lionsgate a cease and desist over this! Obviously, it's still all over YouTube).

First movie of the day: Is This Thing On?

I have been looking forward to this since I first saw the trailer. I hope I have not let my expectations run away with me.

You can say a lot of things about Gene Roddenberry, but if you think he'd be against diverse casts and queer characters, you never actually paid attention. He was the one putting men in skants and having queer couples in the background of scenes on TNG until he was told to stop.
@startrek turns 60 this year and I am proud to have been part of it for more half of its lifetime. Many pontificate over what Star Trek is and should be and which new iterations of Star Trek the late Gene Roddenberry would "like" and which would make him "turn over in his grave".

Leaving *early* hasn't happened. I'm leaving with enough time to eat, but it will probably just be at the mall versus an extra stop for breakfast.
January 11, 2026 at 4:48 PM
I'm going to leave early tomorrow and probably stop for breakfast. Once I get started with movies, I'm going to be on time crunch in between start times. I should probably start with a hearty breakfast, even if I'm not physically going to be doing a lot.

January 11, 2026 at 3:44 AM
Me, for the last half hour: why am I suddenly so sleepy?

Then I remembered how long Adderall is active for. These things are probably related.
