I’m walking away from this discussion because it is so far outside my area. Catholic doctrine is a Gordian knot I can’t pretend to understand and the main question is: is Middle Earth Gnostic? and I really don’t see it. But then I don’t see a lot of things other people see in LOTR so who knows!
